Any reason or resource for this nerf? Or it’s just another “i wanted it to be like this” nerf?
0.125x multiplier against HE rounds, the armor is not made of plastic or something
LMUR was added so it needed to be nerfed
gaijin realize still have something LUMR cant massacre
Gaijin does not state sources that they use, yet they require so many official ones from players.
I’m still waiting for those Kh-38MT documents.
And as people here said, it’s prob just so you can’t tank LMUR and survive :)
Probably because complain from skill less Russian heli pilot from Russian forum
Genius
Yea i hate this bs
Gaijin makes things up and ask u for proofs and even when u show them its "not a bug*
So dear gaijin the change u made is not a bug!!
This tank was made to stop atgm and it did!
Double standard bias devs
They need to start sourcing these changes, no one knows where they are getting these values, and from any logical standpoint, having thick composite be 87% less effective against it’s intended damage type (being explosive damage to the roof from RPG/Exposive warheads) is utterly ridiculous, and would defeat the point of putting it there in the first place
Ask them too much they suspend you.
I know a lot of things are from russian documents, that might explain why other nations seem weak.
Hellfire stats were and to this day are from russian sources.
It primarily makes 155 HE more potent against Merkavas.
That’s it.
Russia’s fans in topic. XD
This is so stupid. This will only make the Merkava armor less accurate. It should be getting a buff.
The buff Gaijin chose for Israel and Merkavas is adding Greece with Cyprus so they get Leos and T-80. Which for them means no fixing of Merkava.
And while I’ll definitely enjoy those vehicles, Gaijin has shown time and time again that they are unwilling to commit to minor nation tech, why bother adding a tree if you’re going to shaft it at every turn, and not listen to the feedback when we give it.
Abhorrent behaviour from Gaijin developers
@I_MiikaL_I
It acts exactly like the Strv 122’s external armor now.
So if Merkava’s wrong so is Strv 122’s armor.
155mm HE round:
Yeah. That’s pretty much what I said in the other thread. “Oh you want your tank fixed?… here, have a Leo instead!”
I reject that point. IRL they act differently. The Merkava is better than the 122 IRL. The Merkava armor as a whole is modeled incorrectly in game.
It’s a different composite package, one being the MEXAS 122 package (for the swedisb Leopards, and also the 2A6EX/2HEL), while the Merkava has it’s own SLERA/NERA composite mix, and it’s signifigantly thicker.
Trouble is that now in game, gaijin has interpreted that thicker, denser composite should have a worse armour effectiveness multiplier, resulting in worse protection despite it’s increased mass and thickness
And I highly doubt MEXAS is as bad as gaijin is letting on either, and fun fact, they neglected to nerf the Composite roof of the 2A7HU despite it sharing the same layout, which is strange
Thank you for explaining it better than I am able to.
My cousin is a Tanker… if Merkavas were this bad IRL he would have died a long time ago.
Classified external armor as a rule doesn’t offer good HE protection in War Thunder.
Merkava was apparently an exception until the recent update.
2A7HU likely went under the radar for now.
@BlueTrain
Yes, all classified armor is modeled incorrectly.
Likely even T-90M’s turret armor.
It gets worse if that tank has classified documents posted on any Gaijin owned website, because then they cannot ever apply more accurate values until the day the armor’s declassified.
Because any change, especially estimations that get close, will be seen as using classified information to model armor in War Thunder.
Then Gaijin feels obligated to treat other tech trees equally for less controversy; especially with how irrational some of us get.
“How dare you model Type 10’s armor accurately without modeling Abrams armor better!” is a potential argument.
