They weren’t 1-2 years ago. They were at relatively decent brs, I don’t understand what payers were complaining about that got them pushed up to a tier that’s pretty much not good for it. I’m talking specifically the base Merkavas and the Premium Merkava.
Premium Merkava only recieved 0.3 BR raise in exchange for getting M413 shell which is much better then M111 at similiar Br.
İt should’ve got M426 but it is what it is.
Maybe it’s just luck or something, but I spaded both my Mark 1B and Mark 2B at 10.3 with little issue.
The tanks won’t always stop incoming rounds, but I’ve found they’re much more likely to do so than other tanks at the BR (other than Russian ones of course)
What about the Merkava 3b.
There are comparitvely better tanks that are 11.0 or 10.7 and 10.3
This virtually has no armor to stand for and just a 120 that has the luxury of a times fused shell

Same goes for Merkava 4 series.
As soon as spaded my last Merkava 4 i stopped playing with them, armor is trash, reloading is trash and mobility is nothing special.
Only good thing about Top tier Isreal is Trophy APS system on Merkava 4M and F-16D Barak-ıı.
Merkava 2D should honestly just get the M428 and get lowered to 9.3, or get M426 and lowered to 9.0.

I think it should stay as 9.7… but it should get its historical M426 shell choice (found ingame at 9.3 already).
As of now, it’s literally the same as Merkava Mk.1B, except heavier, slower and 1 BR step higher because its add-on armor provides zero additional protection…
So at least give it its historical M426 shell, so that at least its firepower is equal to the other 9.3s such as Gal Batash or Magach 7C, which already have it.
T-72AV (TURMS-T) has significantly better armor, mobility, gun, shell and thermals, so… there should be no issue with Merkava Mk.2D getting its historical firepower at least!

İf only every high tier Merkava has their realistic armor value Israel could’ve been a really good tech tree actually.
But that still makes it a glass cannon. I don’t see why it can’t at least be 9.3 so it isn’t facing constant uptiers, because tanks in that br range can still very easily kill it, it doesn’t take a genius.
Comparing it to the TURMS T is a joke because both are premiums, yet one is miles better and is just .3 br higher.
So a better round won’t justify a 9.7 glass cannon.
