Mechanic that has a chance of disabling various onboard electronic systems when an aircraft fuselage is damaged

lmao, they added that ?!
They aren’t even consistent with its implementation, theF-18E doesn’t even have those electronics XD

That’s basically normal vs G8N1 or Pe-8. I’ve died dozens of timez to 1000+m snipes from planes I wrecked and tried to disengage. At this point, I only approach Pe-8 if I am not really trying to win the game. I actively run from G8N.

Of course in magical alternate reality you always have 500km/h left after attack and can perform quick dodges, because you can set up the kill.for several minutes and enemy is not reacting to your attempts.

In reality, you will be going slower than that and longest snipe I’ve endured was from 1800m away. Altitude was high, I couldn’t pull that much and superstabilised gunners did not care anyway, spraying hundreds of shells in my direction with ungodly accuracy.

Try to land such shot without 3 plane stabilisation and then we can talk.

And yeah, I suck at Air RB.

Bombers are not weak at all. They are just extremely not fun to fly or fight against.
This doesn’t stop people like Hitman to slaughter entire teams using f.e. G8N.

And BTW, if bombers are weak, then what will you say abour Fw 190 or Bf 109 or P-47 losing entire wings from single 20mm hits?
If 1 20mm downs P-47, then why do you expect bomber to be able to tank even 4?
Planes are fragile as hell in general, Gaijin did that because that’s what this clueless “community” wanted, and Gaijin crew does not play their own game, so they simply don’t know any better.

Dont you think that tanking a missile with more than 10kg of TNT its something that SHOULDN´T happen, and your plane should be torn to pieces?

The fact that a Su-27/30 can continue launching R-77s while flatspining because the damage model is poorly designed, and you have to keep an eye on an aircraft that’s supposedly destroyed until it hits the ground and explodes, doesn’t seem very fair to me either.

Difference is that IRL pilots want to live so they RTB. Players want to score as many kills before they die. This is a good change especially for planes with limited missile count. Now I don’t know how gaijin coded this rng but that can always be tweaked later with player data. Also this is a great way to stop players from dying early and keeping games from ending in 5 minutes. Stop complaining and think like an actual pilot. If you don’t like this change, ask gaijin to remove it from arcade only.

Try to land shots without mouse aim, because that’s the equivalent for fighters in ARB

I never said you did

The average air RB fighter plays terribly.

Possibly because the bomber wings are larger ?
What even is your point with that lmao

tanking was maybe a bit of a exageration on my part, but i’ve been either not really damaged by a direct hit of a small missile to a “useless” part of my plane (like the “tail” between the 2 engines on planes of the Su-27 family) or splashed by near-misses/ground hits quite a few times

Only if missile splash damage is reduced.
You should be punished for getting shot down, not hit by a lucky missile or it’s shrapnel.
If it was possible they should only apply this change to a ‘severely damaged’ airframe, that would absolve all my issues with it

That doesn’t do anything to solve that, though ?

If i thought like an actual pilot, i wouldn’t start 55km away and like 500m off the ground whil i have 16 enemy planes in front of me

When I got damaged in my F2, I still was able to fire missles and use my radar, just my left wing had a hole in it. I decided to RTB to fix my wing and rearm. Ended up winning a 1v3 with a 20ish minute long match. Alot more fun than the 5 minute mark furball.

What I meant is don’t be stupid and try to engage more enemies if ur damaged. Unless ur in a flat spin, always try to RTB. I would be happy to have my teammate in best condition for the second round later on in the match.

Or i could aslo not be stupid, realize that the damage doesn’t really impair my ability to fight and keep going ?

You seem to not be very intelligent if you do not understand that when P-47 gets disassembled by a single hit, you can’t expect bomber to survive 4.

Try to land shots without mouse aim, because that’s the equivalent for fighters in ARB

Bombers have mouse aim too. But they also have 3-plane stabilisation of their gunners that can shoot you from most directions. Fighter relies on pointing its nose, which is limited by in game physics and flight model. Superstabilised gunners can wield 50kg MGs and cannons with a strength that would put a Greek god to shame.

RNG-based realism =/= fun and engaging gameplay.

RNG-based survival after critically damaging an enemy with HMD is also fun and engaging right?

This seems nice actually, good bye to flat spinning flankers spamming off r73s

Good change imo

Ah sure, on helis that you don’t like because you don’t play them it is very deserved that one stray 50 cal disables all ability to fight back. But when it happens to you in a plane it is wrong? Are you trying to define double standards or what? Why should a burning su30 in a flatspin without wings be able to fire off all his ordinance but no, a heli hit with one 12.7 mm round cant fire its main guns?

The amount of times i’ve nailed something like a Su-25 with 1-3 SAMs and its still kept flying towards me and still managed to kill me is annoying as hell. This would stop that.

In ARB, it also stops the aircraft that has just taken a missile, is on fire and falling out of the sky just spamming off HOBS missiles. Gunna be a massive issue with Gen 5 IIRs when they come.

So, its an awesome change

a burning plane in a flat spin shouldn’t be spamming missiles at me

There was literally an A-10 that took a SAM to its right engine and was still able to fly and use its weapons. You are just butthurt that someone killed you cause you turned your back on them.

there’s a difference between a single engine hit and a fully unflyable plane your not gonna be on fire, uncontrollable and not eject
