Mechanic that has a chance of disabling various onboard electronic systems when an aircraft fuselage is damaged

Why…Just why ?
Who asked for this ?
It was terrible on helicopters (yet VERY desserved imo), so why would you bring it to high-tier ARB ?!
It’s not needed, nobody asked for this and it just makes the game worse

Remember the “there’s a beast deep inside you it will not die it will fight back” trailer ?
Yeah, the beast would LOVE to fight back but RNG decided it won’t

because a plane hit by a missile in a flat spin shouldn’t be able to get kills, i support this change

is it as bad as it was for helis? does a yellowed fuselage disable weapons or something ridiculous like that?

I have only been hit by missiles so far, so i can’t tell
But knowing gaijin…

It just makes the game worse to play.
I tanked quite a few missiles that left me able to fight and fly my plane (albeit in a degraded state) and now, i should suddenly get the “no fun allowed” little line of text that tells me that RNG decided that my armament should be disabled ?!

ofc you should be disabled after a missile hit your plane. Its not fair to the person who launched at you.

irl, planes dont just tank multiple missiles and continue to fight and even kill the person who shot them. rtb after youre hit, simple as that

Ah, yes, the famous “IRL” that justifies making every single aspect of this game less fun

Yeah, i should totally have to be punished, get my weapons disabled and RTB because someone messed up his missile launch and only managed to splash me a bit with the missile because it exploded at maximum proxy range, sure .
Massive /s in case it wasn’t blatantly obvious

wdym someone messed up their missile? they cant control how the missile behaves once its off the rails

If i have only 2 ER’s in my 29, and an su33 tanks one of them and goes on to spam me with all his munitions how is it my fault he didnt die?

Learn to notch and go defensive so you dont have to rely on your plane tanking missiles to survive, i hope this “feature” gets added to alot more planes

They sure as hell can decide to keep the lock for a few extra second to get the missile to finish his course rather than winging it with the IOG.
They also control the launch parameters which,as you probably know, are quite important when trying to hit someone.

And here’s the “skill issue” arguement, of course, because what would a WT forum discussion be without “IRL” or “learn to play”

I don’t rely on it to survive.
I know how to notch and go defensive. That doesn’t make near-misses do 0 damage and it doesn’t cover all situations in this game because sometimes, you’re just put in a terrible position and have to make do with what you have.
What that mechanic does is punishing people for nearly fully dodging the missile and rewarding people for lucky hits and poor launches

im curious for your explanation of what i can do for my ARH to “aim better” beyond maintaining DL before it goes terminal lol.

What i was saying mostly applies to SARH and IR missiles

What exactly can I do for my IR missile to “aim better” once its off the rails, beyond having proper firing solution?

This is a pretty futile argument, planes are jammed with alot of electronics and avionics that arent designed to endure hits, especially from supersonic missiles.

If you failed to successfully defend against a missile, you shouldn’t get a slap on the wrist (yellow airframe) and be able to fly normally as this punishes the person who wasted armament to fire at you especially planes with little weapons (like the gripen).

and your argument on *just launch better can also be countered by *just defend better

Yeah, sure, whatever, 100% my fault for someone not getting a better fire solution

Also

The thing is, those electronics ARE modelled on helis and on two aircrafts
I’d be OK with them adding those modules to aircrafts because you’d at least have a reason for the armament being shut down
Getting my weapons RNG-ed out because my airframed is a bit too yellow for the game’s liking is a terrible mechanic

yeah its 100% your fault that you didnt defend it good enough

Thats just the implementation process, gaijin will add them to more planes as time goes on, you just have to get used to it rather than reject it

Incidentally, there’s still no electronics on Soviet/Russian planes, especially on the Su-30s (the ones who in fact have good chances on getting stalemate/flatspin kills nowadays) and the Rafale, to give another example.

The only planes with electronics are the Su-25 and A-10
On the Su-25, it was somewhat justfied by the aircraft’s ungodly ability to tank Stingers. On the A-10, less so due to how fragile the aircraft was to begin with.

Unless you’re talking about the RNG mechanic which all high-tier planes now have without exception

You better get to check the X-ray of the F/A-18 series.

I would actually love to see WW2 aircraft weapons getting disabled because of damage.
Right now it’s ridiculous that I can land a few 37mm HE shells to the engine of fighter/attacker, which would give pilot absolute 0 visibility in the 1st place (and a huge hole in place of aircraft nose can’t be good for general aerodynamics and stability) and still get raked by nose-mounted guns.

Meanwhile, the wings and takl itself are.usually way too weak vs low caliber weapons. Talking about WW2 only.
We also have flaming bombers tumbling through the skies while 3-plane superstabilized gunners snipe you from 1000m away, very fun.

With modern jets - I guess people are not happy with flaming wrecks still using guided weaponry like nothing happened.

I’m sorry, but if you’re getting sniped at 1000m by a flaming bomber, you’re either insanely unlucky or flying in a straight line behind him and the guy manually shot at you

Also, bombers are weak enough, they absolutely DO NO need to be nerfed even more
