So you only think I was complaining about MB-32KK instead of asking R2Y2 to get better BR?
The MB-326K is armed with only 2 30 mm guns, compared to the 4 that the R2Y2 carries, which also has a ground belt, which is often why the R2Y2 is used as a ground attacker.
The MB-326k may come equipped with bombs and rockets.
However, those 2 fewer guns make a massive difference in how it will perform when fighting other bombers and fighters.
Also, the engines of all R2Y2s can hit up to 960. Their flaps rip within the 320->498 KPH range.
So I don’t know who to believe, the ones who own it or the one who clearly never flew it.
Another case of persecutory delusion…
You got 2 30mm gun pods, and there will only be a slight impact on your FM, and don’t forget the one-second burst mass. At 8.0 only using guns to CAS is like suicide, to be honest
Ok, and? 2 30mm pods=drag=slower turn/bleed energy faster and makes you a slower target.
What is lighter, a pound of cardboard or a pound of tungsten?
Have you ever compared the FM difference when it takes 30mm pods or not?
Bud flight models aren’t the only thing you need to factor in. Even if you have a better flight model, that does not mean you are going to outperform the R2Y2. While carrying 2 extra 30mm gunpods.
What are you talking about…
Yeah, I’m sure it will be bumped in BR, it’s always funny to see how people start to complain when Italy gets some playable stuff and then wonder why nobody play the Italian TT. Or like Gaijin itself insert entire MiGs line so people can avoid playing overtiered planes of Italian origin.
Although imo R2Y2 could get some br decrease, since it lost its airspawn it isn’t 8.0 material.
It’s been years since R2Y2 lost its air spawn and was upgraded to 8.0. Do you know why? Because some players complained about them trampling everyone. Now an Italian jet is added and you remember to complain? Ask yourself why Gaijin is acting like a caring mother hen to players who don’t know how to play and complain.
So you only care about the motherland aircraft and didn’t realize there is another one that is similar to this, and still suffer? Just because it’s an Italian jet and couldn’t compare? And you know what? R2Y2 was removed air spawn before it’s upgraded to 8.0, and MB326K is now getting the same way, there’s no need to be so sensitive.
@Chocolate_Pasta
Su-11 is not the fastest according to practical tests.

Su-11: 7700.
Banshee: 7800.
Sea Meteor: 8100.
You? Cause I have all 3 R2Y2s, and I have flown the 326 a lot on dev, and test flew it again for more testing this week.
Pasta is 100% correct to criticize the placement of the 326.
@mc205v
Also R2Y2 was 7.3, maybe at most 7.7, when it lost its airspawn. It was moved to 8.0 when it was ground spawn only.
I don’t know under what kind of situation you test that, but I prefer using the lowest fuel(8-10min), which is close to the real battle.
Just post the saved climb time from 0-3000m, with 10 10-degree climb.
For SU11
Sea Meteor 2:23.79( only with 5min fuel)
F2H2 2:33.10
Sea meteor due to the FM limit, it is not a high-speed fighter. So there is no comparability. and as you can see, Metror Mk3 is 100% not worth 7.3
the stats of R2Y2 are comparably high due to it being a very good plane in the past, mainly due to its fact that the cannons used to much stronger in the past and due to it having airspawn in a time when the game had much less jets in general (or even missiles). Those legacy stats are the reason it still sits at 8.0 and seems fine there according to gaijin. And because no one continued playing it after all those nerfs+the recent removal from the tech tree, it now will never have a significant enough statistics drop for gaijin to care (most likely).
I chose 11.5 minutes, which is a safe bet. Most players aren’t bringing minimum, but also not 20 minutes.
The Standard Meteor Mk3 clearly has AOA advantage over the Sea Mateor.
Whether that matters? It matters to Zeros…
Yep, that’s what I was concerned about before, until Gaijin added MB326K, I feel it is time to back
I won’t comment on the MB-326K, but the R2Y2 is very average at tier 8.0. This plane is excruciatingly slow compared to other tier 8.0 planes, with poor turning and climb rates. The only positive is the 4 x 30mm cannons, but they shoot like shotguns (at least unless you upgrade them), and many planes in this class have M2/M3 machine guns or 20mm cannons, which have a narrower dispersion. A tier 8.0 for the R2Y2 is overkill; it should be lower or become a attack plane with respawn in the air.
As for the MB-326K, I’m glad the Italians got their toys. Even if it’s too low, let the Italians play with it.
Why? They aren’t balance breaking vehicles they fit nicely into the game and are kind of cool they are if anything a great example of how prototype or paper vehicles should be added which is with realistic performance and not just whatever the hell a napkin from Ihop has vaguely written on it.
Unfortunately, many Italian planes have had their BR increased just because players complained about their performance. This means we’re left with over-tiered planes, which penalizes new players who want to start the Italian TT. There are planes from other nations (USA, Germany, and the USSR) that, despite their good performance, don’t see any changes; in fact, some have their BR lowered. The biggest problem is that some planes aren’t able to handle an Uptier game, which is the norm (I personally play 80% of my games in Uptier). If you move the MB-326K to 8.0, it won’t be able to handle 8.7/9.0 in eight out of ten games. It would therefore become useless, and this will be yet another reason why almost no one plays the Italian TT anymore.
Thats not really true
The turn rate with the gunpods is 25-26 degrees/s
With clean wing, its 30-31 degrees/s, thats around a 16% reduction in maneuvering flight performance, a slight impact would be a 3-5% reduction, not a 15+%, that is a difference in turn rate bigger than between the Hunter and the HF-24 which is around 8% of difference
Also another point in the comparison with the Keiun, the flaps of the MB326 arent really too useful ripping its takeoff flaps(doesnt have combat flaps) at 331kmh compared to the Keiun ripping its landing flaps at 320kmh and combat ones at 500kmh
