The MAW device hasn’t worked on any plane or helicopter since the last update. It doesn’t detect the launch or proximity of any incoming missile, regardless of the type (radar or IR). So neither the alarm nor the countermeasures are activated. When you’re in a dogfight against multiple aircraft, it’s very difficult to keep track of all the missiles being fired at you and you have to manually deploy the countermeasures. I hope this will be fixed soon
MAW has deadzones. And fully working for me
You mean it works on a specific model you use, not all of them, since it used to work, but now it doesn’t
(F/A-18, F-111, F-15E, AH-64, AH-1W, Rooivalk… Just for some examples in what aircrafts dont works anymore. You dont have any of those)
I don’t think you have much of an idea of how a MAW device works. The MAW works through the RWR sensors, which are distributed across the nose, sides, and rear of the aircraft to cover 360 degrees
Luckly I have most of them…
F-15E, has no MAW
F-111, has no MAW
AH-1W, has no MAW
AH-64, (Which one?) Only the Long Bow has MAW
Rooivalk, Has MAW
The same could be said to yourself…
Because the RWR works only together with the MAW if the Vehicle has Sensor Fusion, full List: EF-2000, Typhoon FGR.4, F-2000A, Rafale C F3, A-10C, Harrier GR.7, AH-64D (all variants), Ka-52, Mi-28N (all variants), EC-665 Tiger (all variants), Mi-8AMTSh-VN, Su-25SM3, BUT even with Sensor Fusion you wont get an automatic 360° cover, you still have blind spots
Also, pls tell me how you/MAW wants to see an IR missile on your RWR…
Might of course be wrong, but according to Statshark.net, the Rooivalk’s RWR has blind spots.
Something like this
While other aircraft have more cover, for example the Rafale or the Eurofighter.
Rafale's RWR
As I said, though, I might be wrong, as I’m no expert on these things. Besides that, some aircraft do not have MAWs.
Nah, you are right, he has just no clue what hes saying, because from his 6 vehicles he listed, 4 even dont have MAW to beginn with
MAWS in game come in two flavours UV/IR sensors and PD radar, on some platforms they use sensor fusion to compare what the RWR see’s and what the MAW sees and tries to release the right countermeasure for the threat.
But for example Eurofighter Typhoon as 360° coverage for its RWR in both elevation and azimuth. But its MAW coverage is only 360° in azimuth, in elevation its 45° this means there is a blind stop top and bottom. When a threat comes into coverage of both, if the RWR sees it (SARH or ARH missile) it will drop chaff, if the MAW sees it but the RWR doesn’t (IR/Wire Guided/laser/beam riding etc) it will flare.
That doesn’t mean they share coverage though.

I think MAW comes in the MLWS part. The one that tells you if an IR missile is coming.
EF2000's MLWS coverage
He posted both the RWR and MLWS.
Yep, MLWS = Missile-Launch-Warning-System, or in short MAW
It’s funny how, despite not having a MAW, I can activate and deactivate it on these models, and before the latest update, they all automatically launched countermeasures. It must have been magic 😂😂😂
Oh, I’m blind then, haha.
You got prove? Because otherwise its pure fantasy…
Or maybe you activated periodic release and didnt noticed it…
It must be that in the 7 games you have played with the F-111A you have not even realized that it has a MAW that worked perfectly automatically
More proof than see the auto deploy of chaff and flares?? Have you tried turning it on and off on those models? Did you know that if the plane doesn’t have it, you’ll get a message saying it doesn’t have one?
You have the F-111 and you didn’t even know it had a MAW installed
I doubt you use any cited aircraft properly
The AH-1W is equipped with a MAW system which will automatically release countermeasures if a heat-seeking missile is launched at the helicopter, and an IRCM system creates jamming for IR missiles’ seeker heads
When was the last update? Yesterday the MAW on the Mirage 2000 was working.
I dont think all planes with MAW were affected
