Howdy. Is there any GOOD reason why the russian … (devs) put jets against props? Thank you in advance.
Because early jets suck
But in terms of i.e. speed they are far beyond and above props!!!
Sure in speed.
Outside of that, super props beat them in basically everything else.
Also they did actually co-exist in time - at much wider “BR spread” than in the game.
A stopped clock moment for WT MM!
but speed is the most crucial thing. Fasteer planes dicate. Whether to engage, how, when…
That isn’t always true, and I’d even argue that stuff like the P-51H or Spit Mk.24 are both better planes than the J21RA, or Me-262As.
In real life, a corsair downed a Mig-15.
In the Korean war, the U.S deployed propeller aircraft in ground attack roles and sometimes that led to clashes.
Also like, late-WW2 had Me 262s too.
We even had planes vs dumb rockets.
Yes, but 262s were hunted by entire squads of P51s while Allies already were having a total supremacy. Arrange this here and I will be happy :-D
This game ignores hisotrical context.
Jets in general can dictate fight. Can disengage anytime, are fasteer… So that gain energy faster etc.
The P-51s you think were D modes, C models and maybe B models.
The only P-51 that can face off against 262s is the H model which is a post-war design.
The F4U-4 is late-war. The F4U-4B is korean war.
Most of the 5.7+ roster are post-war designs (with exceptions for germany and japan usually)
Ofc only germany has jets on 5.7. What a coincidence… :-D
Wait until you have subsonics vs supersonics. Especially the high BR subsonics like the Harrier
Though generally, early jets arent that major of a threat to most higher BR props.
That having been said. 7.0-10.0 is hella compressed, so there are a few 7.7/8.0s that probably shouldnt be seeing props
US has p59
lowest BR jet I think right?
Only US has a jet at 5.7 (Air RB). Unless you’re talking about Arcade mode, in which case I’m clueless about the BRs.
I believe so
IRL yes - but WT has non-real-life limits and incentives, plus essentially untrained pilots…
So we play 5-20 minute games, won’t get actually killed, (mostly) haven’t spent 400+ (or even 10+!) hours being taught how to fly combat aircraft, air combat manoeuvres, etc., are looking to win games rather than win wars, and so on… all these things lead to an artificial environment in which real world considerations are often unimportant.
How does this work in your head? If you uptier all “fast” planes who rely on speed to do well into a BR where they are no longer considered fast, then what do they bring?
Can you tell the class who used jets in military application first in history?
