Ahh finally, I was beginning to wonder when the mandatory complaint post for this BP season was going to drop.
Premium B7A2 and the reserve Japanese destroyer works great. Same with French Helldiver and their reserve DD. FIFY.
(Brit Brigand and their reserve if you want a little more of a challenge, or Russian Pe-2 late and theirs. Of course there’s always the Pe-8 in AB too, highly reliable.)
The complaints will continue until design improves. ;-)
In my opinion it would make sense for all the challenges to be of the same type as the BP’s reward vehicle.
So if the reward is a tank then you only get challenges in ground modes.
If the reward is a plane you only get challenges in air modes.
etc.
Why fix naval when you can force people to play it?
I think that would result in a precipitous decline in the number of players actually playing each BP. I don’t see any way Gaijin would ever go for something like that. The option to decide which mode you want to play for each challenge seems the most reasonable, but as others have stated, I doubt that would would be approved by Gaijin because it would likely also result in the number of naval players dropping to realistic levels.
How do you figure?
Most of the challenges are already ground and then a few air and sometimes one or two naval.
I don’t think this would be the case at all, the challenges only lasts for two weeks anyway so the influx of naval players would then only be during those two weeks the challenge is active.

Don’t hate on naval. Naval players deserve to have a challenge in the BP that allow them to get points too.

Perhaps carrier based planes should then get a players choice between air or naval challenges?
If the BP reward vehicle (assuming you’re talking about the main vehicle, the top prize) was, for example, a naval vessel, and all the challenges were naval-based like you suggested, then I’m pretty confident that far fewer players would even look at that BP, much less grind it out. Limiting the mode for each BP challenge to one specific vehicle class/type just doesn’t make sense to me.
Gaijin has not shown any ready willingness to let the players choose in this regard. I, for one, would never play naval if it wasn’t a requirement for some of these BP challenges. If I was not forced into playing a mode I find entirely dreadful in order to complete some of these challenges, I would never ever play naval again. And I know I’m not the only player who feel like this. (And I’m sure there are many naval mains - all 28 of them - who would never play anything other than naval if they weren’t forced to do so by these BP requirements.)
All just my opinion and whatnot, so it’s cool if you see things differently.

Not saying naval players shouldn’t have the chance to get points, too. But that would be addressed by Gaijin allowing the player to chose which mode they’d like to play in order to complete each challenge. It would make everyone happy, right? You’re a naval main, you play naval. You’re a ground main, you play ground. You’re an air main, you play air. Literally everyone can play what they want in order to grind through the BP. How is that the least bit objectionable?

I just wanted to add that the best way to get Naval kills with a Bomber is a lot like the best way to get Bomber kills in GRB.
Use a really big bomb (or a Frtiz X if you have one) and fly high up.
Big bombs like you find on the Pe-8, Wellington, Lancaster, etc increase your chances of scoring a hit when dropping from altitude. The Fritz, being guided, does the same.
As far as spawning the bomber, the best method is to open with a fast coastal vehicle and rush the cap, try your luck against the other coaster vehicles doing the same, and if you survive then go whale hunting with any torpedoes you might have.

I’d love to have a “fast track” for the challenge where it is a specific task and a more achievable by invested time “alternative” that is available in any kind of mode, whether that be kills, assists, mission score, or any other action available in any game mode, with the only requirement being “Vehicle of Rank III and above”.
This challenge was made for the B7A2 premium. A few games in naval, a few games in ground. Got the air kills along the way between the two of them, never needed an air game. It’s a pretty capable dogfighter for its BR too.
Absolutely pulling my hair out with this stupid naval bomber challenge, I’ve played 15+ matches now and have yet to be able to bomb anything, not only is it sometimes a coin flip to if you get a bomber or a strike aircraft depending on what nation BUT ALSO if you aren’t top tier you get a coin flip if your bomber is a damn tier 2 or tier 3 completely ruining the challange for you and then there’s the AA that snipes you 6+km away. Abosolutely brilliant challenge.
