I’d love to have a “fast track” for the challenge where it is a specific task and a more achievable by invested time “alternative” that is available in any kind of mode, whether that be kills, assists, mission score, or any other action available in any game mode, with the only requirement being “Vehicle of Rank III and above”.
This challenge was made for the B7A2 premium. A few games in naval, a few games in ground. Got the air kills along the way between the two of them, never needed an air game. It’s a pretty capable dogfighter for its BR too.
Absolutely pulling my hair out with this stupid naval bomber challenge, I’ve played 15+ matches now and have yet to be able to bomb anything, not only is it sometimes a coin flip to if you get a bomber or a strike aircraft depending on what nation BUT ALSO if you aren’t top tier you get a coin flip if your bomber is a damn tier 2 or tier 3 completely ruining the challange for you and then there’s the AA that snipes you 6+km away. Abosolutely brilliant challenge.
you know you can put your bomber in your naval lineup. play the reserve blue water and use a tier 3 bomber. Make sure you are doing naval arcade as it make bombing easier. try to pick off someone furthest away from the group, with AA fire kinda go up and down keeping them at an angle. Its still very frustrating because of the wall of AA. I hate all the challenges that need anything to do with naval and a plane. I get it that they have a bomber in the battle pass and this gives an excuse to use it, but that thing is so slow i wouldn’t even try to use it for the bp challenge even in arcade.
I used the soviet reserve and the yer 2 bomber. It took a while to get this done. This was the first time playing Soviet blue water, and well this is what it looks like after getting the challenge done.

We do not have any plans to exclude specific modes.
Next there will be request to remove aircraft tasks, maybe fighter tasks, because you do not play fighters (random example to show that your least fav game mode =/= someone else least fave game mode.

In that case, would the mentioned alternative of having a secondary, more time intensive task that could be completed in any mode so long as one uses a Rank III+ vehicle be worthy a consideration?
It doesn’t exclude anyone, rather it includes the entire playerbase who might not have the specific vehicles that make completing a challenge possible/plausible, and would cut down on the frustration with some of the more… let’s say “out of touch with the reality of the game” challenges.
I had to skip a bunch of these challenges, as I didn’t feel like playing tanks at the current state. Way too many challenges are optimized for Ground RB.
To be honest, I really don’t understand why gaijin still charges money to fully participate in the BP when you have all these grindy challenges and stupid daily tasks that repeat over and over. It’s been FOUR years of non-stop BPs and the same stupid daily tasks that only got grindier over time. Why do we have to pay with real money and then bend over backwards to do some of these tasks? You pay for the BP with GEs (not everybody has time to get to Level 125 and do the annoying challenges) and then you have to pay SLs to reroll daily tasks. It’s not fun having a win requirement medium task (you already spent 137,000 SLs rerolling) when you are constantly uptiered and have 6-8 losses in a row. How can you accomplish such a task? Way too many times I just exit the game, as I feel I’m wasting my time trying grinding some task I don’t feel like grinding. Instead of playing some matches, I wait for another day for a bunch of new rerolls.
We really need a big revamp of the BP with discounts for people who have purchased a specific number of BPs over the last 4 years and having more flexible tasks and challenges. This is the 16th BP, if I’m not mistaken. That’s a lot of extra money and monotone tasks. You should be able to have parallel tasks (number of kills, damage to enemy in Naval, etc.). If you cannot get the wins due to this mediocre match maker, you should be able to accomplish it by these other means.
I really wish the 2 week windows were extended for whole duration. It is a lot of fun to be busy for a month or two and miss a significant amount of challenges…
War Thunder Naval is a failure, so I agree wholeheartedly that BP challenges should not include Naval combat. I played naval quite a bit, but it’s just not good when compared to World of Warships.
Wow, it only takes a grand total of 5 minutes to realize how bad Naval mode is when the Battle Pass requires playing it again. Such a terrible balance and gameplay when you compare to World of Warships. I am not sure why Gaijin doesn’t just scrap it, or at least stop requiring it for Battle Pass challenges.
The tasks should be doable in any game mode. I don’t like these specialized ones, so I just skip them. The grind is not worth going past Level 80. Given the amount of grind needed to get anything in the BP, I’m surprised they are still daring to charge for it. They want us to pay for the privilege to grind. 5.5 years of the sucky tasks that only got more grindy over time. Why? They change the gameplay mechanics, but do not adjust the tasks for these changes.
The whole purpose for the Battle Pass is to feed the Marketplace with rare vehicles. People pay for the Battle Pass to get the coupons to sell them for more money than they spent on the BP itself.
In the West that’s definitely not a good way to make money, given the amount of grind and time spent involved. For all the events they jacked up the grind even further just for one to get that coupon. They did this to inflate prices on their market. The pretty much non-stop events are yet another way to push these marketplace vehicles. From fun and casual game with some grindy events from time to time to non-stop FOMO tactics. I just skip most of the events while still tolerating doing the BP to level 80 with 15 levels purchased.
The WB store is so stale, there is just 1 vehicle I can get out of 6 (have other 5). They are about to have Rank IX in game, but the WB store is stuck at level II-III. Pathetic. That was fine when there were FIVE ranks in the game, not nine. They require to do tasks in Rank III, but half (sometimes more) of the rewards are Rank II. Pointless, if you have to grind all these months and you are already grinding Rank VI-VIII.
There are lots of people who “play the market” and make lots of money doing it. I usually sell my event vehicles so I just have premium without actually paying for it. The other day, I noticed the AMX-50 was $1,500 … I don’t know anyone in their right mind who would pay that kind of money for P2W, but I guess there are some because there’s a least one selling every day (probably marketeers).
Honestly this wasn’t so bad. I got it done in like 90 minutes with the S-701.

You can progress the challenge in: Air AB, Air RB, gorund AB, Ground RB, Ground SB, Naval AB, Naval RB.
NOT in air SB.
WHY?!
You give us a cool plane and you can’t use it to progress the battlepass in the only air mode I enjoy.
You are better off investing something like $300-500+ purchasing a bunch of new vehicles (that are still cheap), holding for few years and keep flipping. You can then casually play what you want. In my opinion events are way too grindy for what you get. You can get more money for your effort by selling some stuff on eBay and such.
Job?
Not even counting as a job, but extra hobby on a weekend. The amount of effort to do that is minimal, compared to what gaijin requires as a grind for events. Given that vehicles go for $15-40 after the event, why would I even grind for 16-18 days straight for that? Not to mention, you wouldn’t even get a tradable coupon for that and you would have to grind so much more to make it tradeable.

Well, at least with that you will get a free burger, some fries and a coke once in a while. lol
