Yes we are.
Also true. Nato lack 10.0 spaa.
Didn’t know about that one
Either way, only missiles that have a skimming mode IRL will do so in-game
Everything else will behave as usual, but with the added ability to change the target on the fly
Here we are not talking about manual precision aiming but simply being able to change the target at will in mid flight, which would solve 3/4 of the missiles against corpses, while maintaining the crude aim that they find themselves aiming at imaginary cupola.
That crude aiming is enough to turn Spikes, Akerons and whatever other ground launched MITL missiles they may add later on (AFT-10, ALAS) into almost NLOS missiles
As soon as there is a corpse in an (un)fortunate position you’ll be able to use them against targets that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to attack
Similar to the UAV trick, but a lot more reliable and easier to execute
Gaijin please
I wonder if anything else will change. These munitions will still be kneecapped by the current POINT lock range and a TV/IR lock being required to launch. If the introduction of MitL guidance is combined with an extension of POINT lock range, or the complete removal of a TV/IR lock being required and allowing for NLOS INS/GNSS launches it could be far more useful than “just” an introduction of MitL with everything else remaining the same would be.
I don’t know what experience you have but every time I aim at an enemy vehicle it will always go for the nearest corpse for no reason at all
I don’t usually launch them at anything that’s close to a corpse lol
It would also be helpful if they fixed the targeting system as it has a tendency to not lock or aim at the wrong target all the time. even if I aim accurately
I can’t argue with that
I’m not sure about other weapons that are getting MITL, but the Kh-59M(E) can be point launched from a huge distance
Any with IOG in theory.
So AGM-84, PGM, Spice, etc.
But only the AGM-84 would come even close to the KH-59 without doing something like flying stupidly high and throwing the weapon.
I’ve had a lot of trouble getting point launches on the PGMs in the past, dunno if that changed, but yeah
The Kh-59 and AGM-84 are the ones that are gonna benefit the most thanks to their ability to skim (Heli FnF aside lol)
Otherwise, the AJ.168 is gonna benefit a lot as well thanks to the Buccs low BR and the missile’s actually kinda decent range
Buc going straight to 12.7 in ground battles with 3 Martels…
Same, though just test fired it because its been a while and it seemed to work in test flight, I think its one of those cases where the server just hates those weapons but client side they are fine.
But they have such short range, are so slow and so easy to intercept that I doubt you would ever actually need to use MITL.
Yeah, I agree with that assessment.
Yeah, though ive had major issues with it just being intercepted by Roof MGs every single time ive tried using them lately. But watch them not add it because of its BR as a “balancing decision”
[quote=“Stona_WT, post:1, topic:328837”]
We currently have no plans to add this feature to ground vehicles for balance reasons.

Lol, lmao even. Current heli dircm is unbalanced and unrealistically performing but ok man
No, this is on a case by case basis where the weapons themselves have MNTL capability, where simple gyroscopes or GNNS guidance do not justify MNTL.
Yes… I am aware of that…
the comment was in regard to the listed weapons in this thread and those not listed but assumed.
For example, AJ168 lacks IOG, so assuming it gets MITL, it is unlikely you will be able to employ the tactic of firing at a map target point and then setting a specific target post launch.
In contrast PGM, AGM-84, Spice, etc that have IOG and/or GNSS will likely be able to fire at a map target point and then set a target post launch.
The stongest of these by far will likely be the AGM-84 and KH-59 given their very high kinematic range. In theory enable precesion kills well beyond the range of any SPAA that could reasonably counter
Yeah, it’s just somewhat artificial, with some weapons having an oddly short POINT lock range.
That depends entirely on if they rework launch conditions. Unless they change things you won’t be able to fire at a target point unless you have a TV/IR POINT lock first. That’s what’s stopping you from using these weapons in a (very bad) NLOS LOAL “mode” right now.
