it is logical that if the play area is seen as the whole target for a nuke, they would tune the yield of the nuke to cover it.
39km^2 being nuked out of existence is going to delete enough of that to make it not matter

but nukes can be 4,000-5 million times stronger than a 1000 lb bomb it would even be fair I don’t see a much better outcome than getting fired and throw in a tank and the people in Japan survived being in buildings and basements (what a human should be doing while getting nuked)
but im comparing like 10m from a 1000lbs and 300m from an average nuke
tank crews will steal breath air from outside (horrible radiation in it) and get fried within minutes
The air is filtered, unless you are talking about very old machinery. From cold war, most tanks are built with radiation and chemical environment protection. Else the crew would just put gas masks inside.
Regardless, you would not die immediatly while being heavily irradiated. You would become very sick after maybe a week or so
but how can we be sure a flying tree that got burnt wont track the tank or damage the engine of it (saying they someone survive the blast)
I said that you would probably need to repair tracks and sights. Because that’s a gamified thing in WT, would work the same as getting hit with a round or bomb, you just sit there for a few seconds and repair
actual service ones were at most arounf 9mt, so you kinda lowballed it there.
300m from the smallest nuke ever built would be game over that close (because the davy crockett was a dirty nuke, if it was a clean nuke its still a game over that close from radiation.)
It doesnt matter if it was a more modern tank with an NBC, you got microwaved.
Do you think people just drop dead if they get irradiated? You could hug the elephant’s foot and survive for the day with maybe some headaches
but what about the blinding of the gunner and driver b-52 pilots have special mask goggles and still cant look at the blast (they are infact totally seeing nothing blinded)
depending on the millisievert dose, they do. or are made ill enough to not really be in a good way.
that close to a nuclear blast, youre done.
and who is in the crew is crazy enough to go outside and try to repair the tank they would get fried too
Because if you look at the nuke when it goes off at close range you would burn your retina, like looking into the sun but with even faster damage.
Inside the tank, that would not be such an issue.
unless it was a “dirty” nuke the lingering radiation is minimal. they would already be finished off
Even with a dirty nuke, put the gas mask on and go to town, don’t leave exposed skin, and throw the clothes off when done with the mission. In the battlefield radiation would be the least of your worries.
Centurion Mk III placed ~ 320m facing a 10kt nuclear bomb with all systems online and the hatches closed and locked
→ tank rolled back 5 feet. Sideskirts torn off, the front of the tanks got basically sandblasted and the hatches were blown open. It was concluded that the crew would have been killed by the overpressure.
what about the storm of dust and ash the mushroom would be not so breathable for a commander trying to stick out his head and use gun depression like war thunder
Why would anyone open the tank lol? Its not normal for the commander to be outside when active engagements are going on, nevermind a damn nuke blast lol
its not normal to get nuked while in a tank 😭✌️
Even tho its everyones favourite wikipedia text to speech guy, mark felton is basically the only person to have done a proper video on that test.
shame nobody else has done one
