Well, in War Thunder, average engagement ranges are on the 15km range anyway, so having longer range is not that much of an advantage as high close range performance is.
It’s especially strange considering every nation (except subtrees) used either AIM-120B, R-77, or MICA-EM (only France). There was no reason to add a half-dozen ARH missiles all with different capabilities, many of which are nerfed to make them balanced against others.
That is what I anticipate. AAM-4s should be equal to C-3 to C-7 variants, before that Japan should use a placeholder.
I love the Japanese cruisers they have such cool floatplanes on them.

On closer look it does have 9Ms they just didn’t change the colour of the icon from red to green, so it didn’t stand out in the weapon selector
