Major Update "Seek & Destroy" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 4)

Maybe the devs got too many bug reports and they couldn’t handle it anymore…

They’ll just do what they’ve been doing with all the Leclerc bug reports: absolutely nothing.

GJ does seems to be a far more detached this time around when examining the list of really weird development choices. Copy paste is expected of them not this poor imo. But now making up aircraft names & obscuring the identity of others are a new tactic.

The Bison is really irritating me the more I look at it.
GJ knows we have waited a while for both the modernized post-Soviet Mig-21-93 & or the MiG-21UPG…

Alas, a modernized post-Soviet Mig-21 finally does come to WT & just in time to take advantage of the perfect opportunity to offer it to its full potential, it’s full capability & in all its glory…

Instead, GJ must find a way to screw that up & somehow miss the easiest layup shot.

As of now this Russian Federation modernized Mig-21 will have only Soviet era missiles because GJ in all their wisdom decided it should come to the game exclusively as this Sci-Fi Soviet Retro Futuristic British East India Company NATO Mig-21Bis freak thing.

Funny thing is that the Mig-21Bison & Mig-29 SMT actually are the only two true modern radars in the War Thunder of Russo-Soviet origin. All other Mig-29s the Su27 & even Su27SM are not nearly as advance only upgrades of a not completely digital & still use an obsolete radar dish

Even the Su27SM still uses a Cassegrain radar dish that is a technology found in & quite literally taken from the Mig-23ML. (Only the most modern Flankers got dish

The Su27 & other older Mig-29s have zero ability to control beam direction with the OEPS (IRST). Only radars dishes that are planar array, slotted planar arrays or has moved to ESA of both PESA and AESA.

The Bison can actually technically be upgraded to use radar HMD. The Su27 & Mig29s in game cannot ever unless throwing out the Radar attenna.

In fact, I just made a thread about two of these issues. Support it to bring attention to the devs, please! Let’s see if we manage to get this right with this major update:

Like I said before:

This is “Bad decisions the update”

And the fact is one bad decision makes one that would have been good, bad and it just domino from there.

One saying describes this update and its free for all

It’s a pity that so far it’s only a prototype

Oh, hey, hey! What is that? They are actually implementing spall liners on the Arietes??

I also hope so

I don’t even have or play Italy, but I don’t care; I don’t want nations to get better just because I play them. I want balance across the entirety of the game…

I look forward so much for Italy to become more competitive thanks to Leopard 2A7HU, Ariete spall liners and hopefully more Ariete-related improvements, like turret armor, WAR kit and others! With WAR kit, an Ariete should be capable of withstanding 3BM60 on the turret cheeks, which would be another substantial improvement.

Hull composites and the improvement of the WAR kit, as well as the introduction of the C2 Ariete and B2 Centauro, could really make Italy a top player, even without the help of the Leopard 2A7HU.

Well, honestly, that would really not change much. Even if you change the 80mm of air for 80mm of composite, that isn’t going up even by 100mm.

I had a question about the Mirage 2000-5F. IRL could it hold MICA-EMs on the inner missile pylon?

It would protect then against autocannon fire, at least.

Yes, it could carry six in total, like in game.

Ahhhhh

Nah out od all the nations in the game that need something like a Leopard 2 it was italy

It is a very good thing they got it so now they have a competitive tank

I never said that it doesn’t help, and I have no idea where you got the idea that I think that.

It can’t carry 6 MICAs and 2 Magic IIs though
