Well, to be fair, we already had AI-based frame generation and most people didn’t complain about that.
But I think with even just a year’s time, people have seen the downsides of putting AI into every aspect of our lives.
Just on a technical level though, re-rendering a whole scene accurately is beyond the capability of current generative AI. It can make it “pretty” or “photorealistic” but it will alter all of the details as generative AI currently does. Meaning actual fidelity will be low, even though the impression of high-quality graphics will be conveyed
I did. i’m old school though. I refused to buy anything newer than a 30 series because the newer ones just use ai to fake frames and make things look smoother. I have 10 gigs of vram and i really don’t feel like any games push my rig enough to want a better card either. When this one inevitably dies, im going to be sad tho.

AI today is the bleak soulless thing 2 years ago but not funny anymore because it feels like being generated by a T-1000 instead of a droid mk 1.

Meanwhile I’m milking my poor old GTX960 for every single cent it’s still worth.
I’m actually surprised at how well it can still run War Thunder tbh. I don’t even have to enable support for older graphic cards to get good performance (60fps)
