Biggest advantages it got irl were better weapons across the board, but none of them are in game. Give it 9x block 1 and aim120c-7/d and it would do a lot better, not well mind you, just better. JSOW, JASSM, and SLAM are also missing.
It’s not even close, I don’t even think it’s worth comparing them lol. Pretty much coughing babay vs hydrogen bomb stuff.
The only reason the F/A-18E is being added is because it starred in a big movie a couple of years ago and has a somewhat cult following. So no matter how bad it performs it will get them hype and some money.
And yes it’s going to be pretty mediocre, which is still me being generous. At least the F-15C GE got some things going for it, unlike the Super Hornet.
mind you the 14 was added the same time Top Gun came to theaters and on that the launch of the movie was delayed due to Covid so it would have not matter
Super Hornets are just a glorified attack aircrafts anyway and should be treated as such. Makes it easier to understand the tradeoffs and features it fails to provide as a fighter. Fleet defence aircraft works too I guess now that AIM-174B is a thing…

I mean yes. However, at this point Gaijin is just adding airframes without most of their capability. we need new weapons if planes like the super hornet to not get completely shafted. Moreover, it is needed to progress the game.

Super Hornet should have come like a year ago, to be honest. Maybe then it could have been somewhat relevant.
Or at least it should get SOME sort of new air-to-air weaponry instead of the anemic 9Ms and 120Cs.
In fact, I struggle to understand how some nations are still capped to 9Ms and 120B/Cs while we have stuff like MICA, R-73, R-77-1, etc.

imo the Su27SM (current 27SM, so not the release version) and 18C(late) (no C-5s yet, limited to 120A/B) would have been decent counterparts and then Su-30SM and 18E would have been decent.
Though Gaijin is Gaijin and they are lazy buggers. Like how the Sea Harrier FA2 shows up as a Gripen because the Gripen has the Blue Vixen as a placeholder radar. If anything the Gripen should show up as an FA2 :D

It would be nice if the BR system was actually used to it’s full potential, so that there wouldn’t be aircraft becoming dead before arrival because they have to share the same BR as much more powerful upcoming additions.
Yeah I agree. When you think about it we’re currently getting FUTURE models of the Eurofighter with Italy and UK as their radars are yet to be mounted on service airframes. Meanwhile the weaponry they use predates even the start of development of the Eurofighter project. Kinda mad

I’ll just bring up two things - true EC in ARB with dynamic REWARDING objectives + multi-spawns and gimped but fun next gen IR and ARH missiles that Gaijin could add. I think these are seriously needed right now. We gotta move on
