the discussion at hand is that the Su-30SM2 exactly shouldnt show up as Su-30 but as Su-35 (which it dosent)
it instead shows up as Su-30 like the Su-30SM with a different radar

alright. Though, for radars, does it matter what plane it was first mounted on? As it was a su-30 that irbis was first installed in and not a su-27/su-35

I would argue that RWRs would show a service aircraft with said Radar (which has been the case for over 10 years?), instead of a one-off prototype, which would’ve never seen combat anyway.

irl I would assume its probably based on whats more common, for example I think it will probably be Su-35 because of the fact Su-35 is more common then Su-30SM2 that have had the Irbis mounted

for RWR to be able to label something you need to sample the signal first, and i doubt that NATO in this case got IRBIS samples from a Su-30MKK but rather the Su-35
and it would make more sense to lable it as such becasue its the jet its most commonly used in

It wouldn’t matter what plane it was first mounted on. RBE2 was first mounted on a civilian airliner. What matters is what was the first plane that NATO would have seen it regularly being faced with that same radar.

that would make sense. Though the original su-27m/su-35 used bars originally, so if those eventually get added to the game i wonder how gaijin will deal with those for rwr

thats not how that works updates are planned in advance things change as it is worked on things take priority if everything was a C&P then we have more then 5 updates a year with more vics each update
