I believe the written plan is for the Mk. 1. But there is no way the german MoD would choose an inferior radar. So i think they’re going to be the mk.2 when they get delivered in 2030+ but i might be wrong.
It has yes. That’ll be Mk.1 Step 2. AFAIK there’s also no plans to roll out pirate for more airframes currently

i’ts over 5 years into the future, and they will get the T5. It wouldnt surprise me if the had the mk.2 and Pirate being a tranche 5 which is the newest of the newest also with the f35 type cockpit
You don’t know our MoD well enough then. We wanted to use AN/APG-65 for the EFT even. We also don’t have PIRATE for cost reasons as well. They cut some really odd corners.
Hell, we don’t even have a stockpile of spare parts anymore and have outsourced some of our maintenance to cut costs

I don’t see it honestly. Mk.2 would mean we’d have to service two different radars that will fill largely the same role. And unless the PIRATE upgrade turns out really good, I doubt our parliament will be willing to authorise the purchase, they need a lot of convincing for anything defence related.
