yeah, but currently ingame they would not be OP at all in air, just balanced to have counterparts to the dominating magical r-73 that turns like a MICA while having IRCCM. Also imagine seekers cant be added to a game realistically, its just a limitation of games as a whole.

It is entirely dependent on whether they plan on improving the seekers or not, they might plan to overhaul them and the current implementation is just a placeholder/prototype. Balancing them on SAMs first is a good solution.
They rarely do when ground launched. CAMM for example tops out at about Mach 3 and has around 15km range. ASRAAM, the same missile for all intent and purposes. Tops out at Mach 5+ and has 30-40+km range. They are very very different when air launched.
I would concur, Aim-9M on the Typhoon vs Magic II and MICA EM (Near identical kinematically to the MICA IR) on the Rafale is an extremely unfair fight. But it does need to be done properly. I think starting with decent radars for everyone is a smart choice. But I think before we see wide spread deployment of Gen 5 IIR missiles, they need to overhaul IR signatures and CMs. Probably multipathing too.

currently how it is, it’s still really really hard to flare to the point where if you see it launched at you there’s not much you can do. with the amount of countermeasures the average plane in war thunder has, it’s impossible to flare it or try preflaring it.
Lol, a gripen for example has 1000+ flares, just spam and turn away from the missile.
okay, are we forgetting about all the flankers? the rafale? the mirage? what about the J-10s?
You are right that it doesn’t specify either MKI (Flanker-H) or MKK (Flanker-G) series of aircraft, so maybe it does mean it can be integrated on both series?
So by that, if that is how this should be interpreted, what Gaijin did follows the internal rules of the game, since the weapons are said to be compatible and the only issue might be the Kh-38MT(E)s existence itself being a bit questionable.

Most of htose are BOL. BOL Should be highly effective against IIR Missile as it was designed to counter them, but the in-game implementation… makes them extremely useless. Also its not a 1000+
i would agree the AIM-9M in terms of pull is very bad, but the range is very good. but i strongly agree that surface launched missiles have to go upwards only, and they start with 0 energy, so they run out very quickly

I would agree with the “range vs maneuverability” argument if Aim-9M had
- Their IRL lock ranges, (rear-aspect range) currently they are a C&P of the Aim-9L and significantly too short
- Their IRL tracking rate, which would improve their ability to track fast moving targets
- All-aspect IRCCM, currently seeker shut off does not work, at all. In front aspect.
- Better IRCCM, the seeker shutoff doesnt work all that well except in carefully set up side aspect shots. Push ahead for example would be a meaningful buff
- They had their IRL overload, Should be 35Gs, it is not.
All 5 of these issues have been reported and accepted. some more than 3 years ago now.
