wow something got destroyed while it wasnt even manned
it dosent matter what gets killed by a drone strike on the ground
the only thing it shows us is that most if not all airfields arent properly protected against those kinds of attacks

It’s made worse by people arguing over the accuracy of simulations made by civilians based on public information and guess work because everything important about these planes is still classified.
These planes have been and will be for a long while impossible to model accurately. That’s why it is such a bad idea to bum rush these planes into the game
Wow a fighter jet was able to destroy a high altitude balloon it only shows that it can fly :/
Regardless of if you fanboy over Russian jets, you cannot say whatsoever that the Felon is better than that of the F-35 or the Raptor in that opinion, despite its percieved obsolescence. Not only that, the US Air Force is upgrading the F-22 to remedy some of the more obsolete or missing features. Also the balloon shootdown, while not the most spectacular show of force, does show the AIM-9X’s ability to lock onto low heat signature targets.
Also if the Su-57 is such a great jet, why has no country in the history of ever. From the KAAN, KF-21, J-35 to the AMCA all base their design off of that of the F-22, with some differences of course. Even the Su-57 bears a striking resemblence to that of the YF-23, especially the frontal area of the jet ;)
Which one? THey only bully ones that don’t work. Sure u may argue they do but … pretty much every one will do that, SAMs are useless against air superiority.
Also from what I know it was a MANPAD / small SPAA that took it down.
That’s an AI image, it doesn’t look like that cause the plane was spotted like once and this is where it came from.
Only 1 photo like ever. I know the tail, but just to say the front looks quite different.
in what because you cant tell me that the F-35 would be as good as the Su-57 in a dogfight
they are better in the stealth aspect that is true
but you would also defend the F-22 if it got bombed on the airfield
the SU-57 and YF-23 are completly different designs
it starts with the specefications they are trying to fullfil
and goes to wing shape and then to the airintakes
you mean bought it?
if so, there is one that did and another one is considering it
They remade the entire airframe cause the specific issues with engine and electronics. The Z20 was kind of designed for high alt, and cause how old the airframes China got they just remade one, still the same but internally the spacing and stuff are altered.
They based it off S70 100% but it was remade.
Iranian one with S-300, and other modern missile launchers as well as radars
Su57 is basically a su27 flattened the same way object 775 was.
the su-57 has actually a smaller wing span than the Su-27
and is actually not that much bigger than the F-22
even in the 2nd there are many similarities and its clearly copied in at least partially. if you have a front end photo that would be nice
Don’t talk about Iran especially not so close to the thing lol
That is far from modern, late 1980s standards at best.
U still get the flanker vibe though, especially when flying. The way it flies is soooo nice.
Yeah Ik there is definitely similarities but pretty much down to the tail and the connection of radar. Based off Y-7 and a new two side AESA. From what I can see this is prototype of a prototype, just to test if the airframe works. Cause seemingly the wings don’t yet fold, likely modified Y-7.
If the F-22 was bombed on an air field, that would be indefensible and would yield the same reaction. Seriously. Also, the Su-57E being “exported” are few in number, if they are being exported at all. Not to mention the fact that over a 1000 F-35s have been built as well as over 150 raptors… while the Su-57/57E have maybe 3 dozen or so airframes in service.
2nd of all, even among 4th generation fighters, when was the last time there was a confirmed dogfight? If the only good feature of a “stealth” jet with an RCS estimated to be .01 to 1 m^2 is that of its dogfighting ability, it would be dead on arrival to any warzone. If Dogfighting is such a in demand figure, i wonder why the fighter mafia’s red bird never took off…
The F-35 especially has a better radar, better sensor fusion ability, better situational awareness, better networking, and to put the cherry on top, the advent of high off bore sight Fox-2s makes the dogfighting less important. Im sure you buy into the idea that the F-35 cant beat an F-16 in a dogfight-- which is untrue. While a Clean, minimum fuel F-16 may give it a run for its money, the F-35 in every other circumstance was shown to wipe the floor with the F-16. Not to mention its overwhelming stealth advantage of the F-35 over the Su-57, the only time the Su-57 would have the clear advantage if both jets are in a dogfight with cannons only. About the F-22, the upgrade plans for the raptor aim to put it on par with the F-35s abilities sensor-wise.
Third of all, the Su-57s visual similarities with the YF-23A are very real.
I agree that the Su-57 is not a 1:1 replica of the YF-23A, however it would be dishonest to say that the designers of the PAK FA and more refined Su-57 never drew inspiration or design cues from the YF-23A
What about the modern domestic Iranian SAM and -ESA radars?
its not even that high, in 2024 it was estimated only 14 production Su57s were in service so unless russia has tripled their fleet in a year when they couldn’t in 15 years its a little over a dozen
Mostly relatively short range, like Pantsir and Tor. Also I doubt that PESA systems are very good, as well as the fact that stuff like Osa and Strela would be out of service if they are ‘good’. They are to me 1990s standards for AA systems.
Bro I thought they fixed 405 bug.
from what I have read PESA are marketed as being able to detect stealth aircraft but experts have debated that in reality they would probably struggle
