it already begun with the leaks…
The problem of the Su-57 is that every screw and rivet (the head works like a radar reflector) and every gap increases the radar return (straight gaps especially). The return of these gets stronger the higher the frequency/the shorter the wavelength. That’s why planes like the F-22/35 have nearly zero visible screws or rivets and the tolerance of gaps is reduced to a minimum while having saw-tooth corners to reflect incoming radar waves into a different direction and not directly back to the radar they’re coming from.
On the picture below you can see the many screws on the Su-57 wing and body and the rather wide and straight gaps of the weapons bay under the fuselage. The sensors (pitot pipes, etc.) around the nose add to the radar signature too as do the bubble or ball formed IR-sensors. The reason the IRST on the F-35 is square is to reflect radar waves into a different direction while a bubble/ball formed spreads them everywhere → some return to the radar.
Additionally the Su-57 seems to lack a radar reflective coating on its cockpit? Don’t know if it’s just transparent or not especially visible here. The radar return of the cockpit interior is quite large as there are many angles and corners, which is also the reason the F-16 got its golden radar-reflective coating for the cockpit glass on later versions.
And physically the Su-57 is much larger than the F-35 (over 4 meters longer, over 2 meters more wingspan and 0,3 meters higher). So alone from these basic rules of stealth techniques and the physical size difference the Su-57 has to have a bigger radar signature than the F-35 by no small margin.
This is me just talking about the stealth techniques and stuff that increases or decreases direct radar return of airplanes. I am not trying to talk bad about a plane because I’m playing favourites. Just listing stuff/differences between the planes and their impact on radar signature based on basic knowlede of radar signatures while comparing the two planes.
screw head argument in 2025 bro…
you are not wrong here, but the thing is, objects smaller than its wavelength has negligible return. X band wavelength have a wavelength of 3 - 4cm, while screw heads are usually 2cm in diameter.
Thats why screw heads dont matter much against aircraft radars
Its like putting a white pixel in a 1080p video and watching it at 240p.
also even F-22 has a lot of exposed screws
Fun fact, that is NOT a su-57, thats a T-50 (old su57 prototype). production variant of Su-57 are much cleaner with barely any screws, and if any, properly flushed.
It rotates backward when not in use, which is covered in a thick layer of RAM. This has advantage over the faceted systems on F-35 which have reflective surfaces, not to mention the abrupt angle changes will also give diffraction return.
It does have one, its absorbing than reflective afaik.
Given that articulating vehicles, EldE 98 ie. is now confirmed, and separate vehicles are here too, surely this means the devs will take another look at my suggestion for the LVAKAN FM 1, 18.5km of 120mm auto cannon AAA glory, 80 RPM, perfect for lower tier.
When is something ready?
Game isnt ready for fox 3, game isnt ready for eurofighter.
Game isnt ready for anything and yet it always comes and it is always fine in certain ways, sure we need to adapt.
But in the end it works out.
It wont ever be ready if you don’t dare to take a next step.
So you’re telling me, I may actually be able to see the addition of CATTB soon?
Do we usually get update on Tuesday morning or evening?
It depends on where you live or who you ask :)
In Argentina they are in the morning. Always
im just waiting for gaijin to make the Su57 more stealthy then literally every other 5th gen when even in the more up to date graphs you showed it still has worse RCS then pretty much everything, also concerned about gaijin making the IRCCM work like that on the Mi-28NM and make it immune to IR missiles
it’s estimates show it’s new RCS isn’t all that bad.
Or they could fulcrum the flight model
First I don’t know if that graph has Honeycomb structure. Second i won’t mind if they make the Su-57 a little worst RCS than the F-35s. But by Stealth flanker simulations Bielka will be the Best radar in game. Maybe until F-35 Block4 get it AN/APG-85 upgrade… Also there is enough info to fight for L-band Radar. Yea radars. Making the Su-57 better at detecting other low RCS aircraft.
And to end the performance. That thing has being describe to be better than Su-35s. Better climb, Better Acceleration, Turn rate… And Su-35s its almost equal to Eurofighter and Rafale in game. There is not way for gaijin to nerf the UFOness of that thing. Like they did with the boat Su-30sm.
hello, some vehicle with autoloader but loading process using manual reload sound effects like VT-5 and Rooikat MTTD. players point out that problem in Community Bug Reporting System but no stuff reply that.hope gaijin can notice this problem to change those to autoloading sound effects.
120 mm Rh120-44 (Leopard 2 PL): DM 43 APFSDS: drag coefficient: 0.55 → 0.611
Is this a nerf or a buff?
If the drag coefficient increases, does that mean speed drops faster after penetration?
It should mean it loses speed and energy faster while in flight. It’s energy and speed right out of the barrel should be about the same, and you won’t really notice a difference except at long distances.
I mean yes, its muzzle velocity doesn’t change. What I think changes is its velocity after penetration. It loses speed faster, so it does less internal damage. Thats what I want to confirm, if anyone can help me with this.
It should relate to penetration all too much, drag will relate to it losing energy in the air, as that’s what drag is. The damage values done post pen will remain the same, as they’re in the files and would have been datamines if so I believe. What changes is how fast it loses speed in the air, its time to target, and the amount of energy it will have when it reaches the target. Everything after that is pretty much unrelated to this stat.
In short, they further weakened a tank whose firepower was already underwhelming.
Id not consider a Leopard 2 in any way “weak” at the moment
dont forget the Su-27 and Mig-29
if we want to get the su-30 fm changed we need to get the Su-27 fm changed, which is a way more reasonable task
