As I dont really face the US in ASB at the moment. I’ve yet to try it, but I cant imagine that something like the Sea Vixen radar would be anymore affected by it than just flying low would and using ground clutter.
Seems stupidly niche ability to me and Id rather just fly ultra low in something like the Buc S1 to be immune to radar than to use stealth to hide as you can still be easily spotted with the old mk2 eyeball

No. BOL was 100% a fake nerf designed to nerf the Gripen.
The fact the bug reports have been ignored and so far no word from the “un-nerf BOL thread” its pretty clear it being nerfed to the point of uselessness isnt a mistake

Sure, but my point was we didn’t see Eurofighter or Rafale added in HMDless versions, they frankensteined a HMD on there. This isn’t the F-2A where we can get a premium 13.3 F-22A with only AIM-7P and AIM-9L or something.
F-22A even without HMD would probably still rip up the matchmaker even with AIM-9M and AIM-120A/B but I don’t expect it to come without AIM-9X or AIM-120C-5 at the minimum. There’s basically no way they could nerf it more than this.
Their hands are basically tied on this matter.

AIM-9M was its main service weapon for a good bit until the 9X was put on it, so no problem with that. same with an early model AIM-120C, they probably used those too

AIM-9M is still really good and it can’t carry less potent weapons than ARH.

if they add the F-22 at like 14.7 or 15.0, they could do a YF-22 with nothing but pitbull amraam (dont even think it mounted a radar or countermeasures) at a much much lower BR

But Gaijin going from modeling them as normal CMs to then modeling them as 1/4 normal CMs 15 months later was clearly a deliberate action designed to reduce the effectiveness of BOL.
Inferring that there is deliberate nerfing just because they change something to what they think is more realistic and then fail to implement bug reports or otherwise talk about something…
They do this about literally everything, all the time. This isn’t even slightly unusual behaviour.

Given the fact that BOL was already underperforming when they applied the nerf. Yes it was very much an intentional and deliberate nerf. There is no other way of justifying the change.
If it was incompetence then that is just even worse.
But there is no way they could genuinely believe that BOL being this weak was in anyway realistic
Yet they did split the Finnish Hornet into a early version without HMD&CAS and a late version with HMD&CAS.
