Major Update "Leviathans" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

i mean we could see the american F-35 being pushed back to next year and the rest reciving it for obvious reasons thats a posibility.

i was thinking the same, in my opinion does not make sense to be under the F-16C but sometimes gaijin do strange things and the only line that i dont have yet its the F-16C line i have all the rest XD

dont think that would happen. they might just nerf the F-22 stealth as an interim solution

the F-35A probably going there since 1. its replacing the F-16’s lol, and 2. its a single seat (relatively) light fighter

nah gaijin will add a lot of fifth gen specially knowing that the F-35s are mostly copy and paste with just a few differences between each one.

I don’t see any reason they’d put F-22 before F-35…

F-22 is clearly more capable just from missile payload alone, never mind flight performance. That is coming later than F-35 if not at the same time.

I’m honestly just betting it all gets delayed.

I am not looking forward to the absolute sh*tstorm when people realise bug reporting using that calculated Su-57 RCS graph gets declined because it isn’t the literal RCS of the actual plane.

F-22 and other stealth aircraft are either going to be completely broken OP that it renders top tier unplayable for anyone without steatlh or they wont model the stealth and the US mains will throw a huge tantrum.

Either way, would just be best to not add stealth to top tier.

Not exactly like either US or USSR are suffering without

I think it is very noticable and conspicuous that J-35 was not mentioned in the leak.

Yeah that’s the logical route

US fighters can be broadly categorized as high or low end, which up until now has been F-15 and F-16 respectively. High has twin engine, low has single engine. The F-22 and F-35 continue this tradition.

High and low here is in relation to each other. F-35 or F-16 is not low end haha

the F-35 needs more advanced sensors modeled and relies on having top end missiles. the F-22 sensors are generally just better versions of what is already ingame. it also can comfortably use weaker missiles like the early C model AMRAAM’s and AIM-9M so there is no pressure to add like AIM-120C-7 or AIM-120D to aircraft

I do wonder how much people expect stealth to carry, with these current missiles it won’t make much of a difference because in the ranges you can use them you’ll be able to detect and lock stealth aircraft anyway

Yes, but Su-30SM has one of the best radars and the flight performance is awful. Look how that’s performing.

F-35 is more advanced, depending on who you ask, but for War Thunder you need speed, energy retention and high pull to do anything. F-22 is absolutely superior in those regards.

Plus Gaijin can frankenstein the F-22 into some 2026 modernisation or whatever that carries all the OP missiles or whatever, if they so choose.

I think Gaijin wouldn’t, they’d be foolish if they did, add a F-22 with weaker weapons at some lower BR. It’s still absurdly fast and carries decent quantities of weapons.

Yea, I fully expect no stealth modeling so that existing Gen 4s and Gen 4.5s will have equal footing against these Gen 5 planes

Reality is not fun

I don’t think so. They bothered to implement stealth on the F-117 and it isn’t that effective.

There will be stealth, but it won’t be as good as everyone expects it to be.

Plus, if this is actually coming in December, we’ve got 2 major updates for them to lay the groundworks with various mechanics ETC.

We saw that Eurofighter and Rafale were added and then various capabilites like automatic countermeasure deployment and NCTR were added later.

Lots of time for them to either pre-buff or post-buff these 5th gens.

But I do not seriously expect it to happen in December of this year, but I believe it guarunteed to be by December 2026.

Good point, War Thunder’s low engagement range and low altitude meta is fundamentally different from real war, and it’s not talked about enough I think.

IMO this is due to in-game economy and the constraints of an area/time restricted battle-space

Yeah, exactly. Heck, they wont even model BOL to IRL performance. I seriously doubt we’ll see stealth modeled

like the F-15?

Comanche and F-117?

Ok, but you’re using BOL not being modelled as realistically as you like, to argue they won’t bother modelling it at all. They clearly will, but clearly it won’t be as strong as people expect.

That’s what I mean. It just won’t matter. It’s like a token thing. “Oh hey, here is 0.5km reduced radar detection”
