8km max (effective) range is around expection
It shouldn’t be, but that’s what it is on dev.
Well… more thinking like the Tornado Gr1, ASSTA1 or IDS (1995).
GR1 does have PGMs, but you might get them all off before the Derby killed you.
Though sounds to me more like the Spyder is a buggy mess and its performance on the dev server shouldnt be the same as what it is going to be on the live server.
So we’ll have to wait and see. But if IRIS-T SLM and Spyder do get their IRL performance. Then some CAS is gunna need some buffs too and then some of it mgiht be usable in the air modes too
yeah stuff like AN/MPQ-64 is underperforming quite severely as well. but its all WIP so for now best to assume its close to IRL performance
Spyder, is seemingly cooked now unfortunately.
Supposedly a tech mod or whatever said it won’t have Derby ER’s (SLM kind of range) so it’s going to be stuck with SR’s at best (ADATS kinda range lol)
It could have been SLM / Pantsir quality, but now it’s destined to play like a Tor with Strela missiles.
If CAS does get a buff, and this is what I have to deal with it, I think I’m done.

It definitely would, because every spaa needing to have their radar off would means barely any competition for another plane that can get up to 6 free kills.
For the first time in months, hell even years, cas at top tier is not just some free kills crutch that bad players can use so that they can pretend that they are decent at the game.

it’s just similar to old tops including Pantsir, fnf and auto pilot makes them more efficient, still a progress.
Then a lot of CAS needs a BR reduction. Kinda stupid to expect a Tornado Gr1 to fight IRIS-T SLMs.
But anyway. CAS still needs buffs. If nothing else, aircraft like the Typhoon can actually be partially brought up to their IRL performnace rather than massive fake nerfs
The SLM currently can’t fire its missiles at all without a radar lock. So it would just become completely useless…

The Pantsir has a much higher max effective range than 8km.
8km at 12.0 is just garbage. Most if not all of the 12.3-13.0 CAS aircraft will laugh at the Spyder if it keeps that 8km max effective range.
