Major Update "Leviathans" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

I think this is the single time where SAL Brimstone is the best. Just need 2s for the Prox fuse

AH-64E is UK’s last hope. Do they even have the DIRCM for it though?

I dont know.

Maybe?

But yeah. Helis are basically dead for us. What we need is MMW LOAL Brimstones for the Tornado and Typhoon .Those should counter these new SAMs just fine :P

Perhaps throw in a few ALARM

Spoiler

Brimstone2
tornado-alarm-1

These fits would serve us well

No one in my group owns Comanche, so not a possible test.

@Morvran @x-GeeNo_MS-x @CalvinAz

There is a deadzone.

Edit: Video of another deadzone shot.

AH-1Z has/had one tested. AH-64D had one tested (ran into some weight problems), and AH-64E has a really new one tested or in service, not sure how far along it is off the top of my head.

But only mighty USSR gets them

please tell me the text on the screenshot isn’t just ai generated…

that’s very confidence inspiring…
and it doesn’t list a source anywhere

That is neither an IRIS-T, Aim-9X, Aim-120C5 or whathever the Spyder has. That is an AGM-65

It’s real bro trust me. The manufacturer and the military both confirm it

do you have a pic of either of these helos with the DIRCM mounted and visible enough for gaijoobles to make the 3d model changes for it and some basic info on coverage?

Give it time and AH-64Es will be in War Thunder with DIRCM, and Spike missiles.

@Morvran
We are addressing the fact that the dev server IR AGMs are being changed and not DIRCM itself.
On top of that, the vehicles with DIRCM aren’t even usable at top BR as is due to SPAA presence. The IR AGM change quite literally changes nothing because how many AGM-65D frags are occurring against helicopters currently anyway?

Seems there is a dead zone, despite 360 degree horizontal and either 75-90 degree vertical coverage from the emitter. speaking of I think the emitters vertical is flipped to be plus 90 rather than neg 90 and therefore is working through the body of the helicopter and not directly below. Since this is the emitter iirc.

Spoiler

Correction to the coverage, it is 360° azimuth and either the whole upper hemisphere or lower hemisphere, depending if they flipped the values or not.

I’m sorry I don’t know what I’d be looking for, AH-1Z has a bunch of bits on it.

https://www.leonardodrs.com/what-we-do/our-solutions/advanced-sensing/aircraft-sensing/

This says it has 360 degree coverage and some other stuff

Look at that UH-1Y. It probably has DAIRCM on it, but I couldn’t tell you where it was if my life depended on it

Very funny that this gets added together with the new SAMs even though the best one should be completely immune to it. You can guess wether it actually is :clueless:

The issue is if Z10ME got CM502KG, it will be the most dangerous heli at toptier, because the shoot range is over 20km and has a similar system like MI28NM, Considering Gaijin still refuses to add HMD for Z10 and buff TY90, it is pretty hard to say Z10ME really has hope to get that

apparently from what iv seen, 25km range is the absolute max against larger targets. Against tank sized targets lockon range goes down quite a bit to around 12-15km

Still hard, I don’t remember if we really have any IR missiles on helis that could have an over 12km shot range

Not in game.
