Major Update "Leviathans" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

i can always grow another one ig

Does Switzerland have attack helicopter?

They’re expanding the types of shells used w/ the new visual hit effects, which is a normal change. But this one caught my eye:

Other hit effect changes

It doesn’t compromise it though, the pilot can toggle it on-off and it has covert mode where it reacts automatically to a missile launch warning (provided by the RWR or Radar) and activates and subsequently injects spurious guidance commands, which is why it also has a Radar jammer.

Anyway it would be employed in high risk area or after the element of surprise has elapsed, up to the pilot.

z10-me BR is just 12.0, seems like it still won’t get any F&F ATGM…

They did accept a cm-502kg report so it’ll get that at least

Hope to see some Chinese guns in those infantry leaks

Maps 🗺️ :
These are a lot less certain at this point and I don’t have much info. some of these could be different names for the same map too.
“central africa”
has a slum and an airport
“amaddu”
some thing about a cinema, hotel, and gas station
“varan”
“east germany”
“east valley”
“middle east” map could be one of the above

“maginot” - might just be for testing and also can refer to the Flanders map too
stalingrad, berlin, tunisia, moscow, normandy - could be testing ports from enlisted

Equipment load 🎒 :

1 primary
1 secondary
1 melee
2 “specials”
grenade - might be a special

Features ⚔️:

backblast
bipods and tactical devices (presumably flashlights and lasers)
med kits
kamikaze drones
it seems you research guns
3 ranks of guns right now
squads of soldiers
squad size can vary?

I forgot a few things:

Boat :
USS Firebolt (PC-10)

map for infantry :
“granitograd”

weapons for infantry :
pslr-1

the M24 Granade fits the role of “HAND GRANADE” for example.

Should this be happening to an SPAA? Top down attack on the aircraft.

yeah just ignore the part where it says that some of the systems are optional and show me a picture of an RAH-66 with the AN/ALQ-144

It’s mostly found on long range SAMs. Those things are almost ballistic missiles, and just like a modern ARH carried by a plane, will usually loft very aggressively

on short range SAMs it’s quite rare, but some short range missiles do loft, although far less aggressively. Illustrated here by a mistral 3 launch : https://youtu.be/ScRKwN3L0-Y?t=27

But not when target is 2km away. Also this is not against an air target, nothing would also do such a sharp turn which drains so much energy. Also how does the IR seeker keep track. I really don’t know wtf is on with this ‘20G missile’

You do get that that just means it can be demounted, the same way the F-14A should have an optional IRSTS.

The same argument could be made to request an image of the YaK-141 with the IRST blister actually mounted.

let me guess : it’s the chinese one ?

Joke aside, in the video, mistral lofts for a target that is quite literally 2 clicks away, so it’s still possible, and the further away the target is, the more interesting lofting is, so i don’t see a problem here, except for the fact that the turn looks abnormally sharp as you pointed out

The mistral was however fired at a surface target so loft could also be for tracking purpose in case something gets in the way. There is no reason a 12km missile should do that.

hopefully they expand it yeah

Mistral doesn’t really make the difference between an air and ground target, it lofts either way.

An other example at long range against a drone : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXMNXvCVt08

It’s not a great loft like an AIM-120, R-77 or whatever, but it still lofts a bit

As for the reason, even on short ranges, trajectory shaping can be interesting, as long as it doesn’t make you maneuver too hard. Secondly, it helps the missile clear the ground when firing at something low (or on the surface), as you pointed out.

EDIT : it’s even more visible here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNtriQ9eoSU

wrong way around, it means it can be mounted, last time i checked the f-14a wasnt in service with an IRST
