Fair enough, in any case though. Viggen DI vs F-14B is pretty fair/balanced
F-14B more than likely wins the WVR fight between them and the Viggen Di is overall much weaker defensively with half the number of BOL and a very weak RWR. I’d guess they are fairly evenly matched in a BVR fight depending on the exact conditions on the fight.
F-14B doesnt implicitly need Aim-9Ms, rather the F-4F ICE and Tornado F3 Late probably should be 13.3 but cant due to compression issues.
AV-8B+ and Sea Harrier FA2 have some noticable disadvantages and need the 9Ms at that BR, even though in the FA2s case, you’d rarely take them

No, the 2A7A1 does not look like that.
Main differences are the heavy side skirts, EMES 15 on top of the turret, new PERI and the mounting points for the side add-on armour.

The F-14B shouldn’t get AIM-9Ms at 13.0 because it is among the better 13.0 planes.
Either it stays 13.0 without AIM-9Ms or it goes up to 13.3 with AIM-9Ms.
no it isnt the better planes are F15A and SU-33

Viggen DI and J-8F doesnt get IRCCM and those should be considered the equals to the F-14B.
J8F gets fox-3 pl-12 and aim-120 same with viggen DI

Sure, the F-15A and Su-33 are better in most aspects, but the F-14B is also better than the JA37DI, Sea Harrier, AV-8B+ and J-8F in most aspects.
