Are they? My experience of Tornado Gr4 vs F-4F ICE and Mig-29s in SB is that the AMRAAMs are WAAAAAY easier to defend against than something like the R-27ER.

AMRAAM are just as easy to notch/chaff and the Aim-54s large warhead can almost make them more danagerous because of the splash damage from near-misses / Multipathing

The Fakour is based on the AIM-54, but it isn’t one.

Even if an AIM54/Fakour doesnt hit you, the splash damage sure will with like idk how much explosives that thing has, including its massive proxy radius

this is the BR range where you stop multipathing cause of splash damage you fly high and notch

Yep, like 95% of my deaths from the Aim-54/F-90 have come from the splash damage and not direct hits.

Maybe you stopped multipathing there, but plenty of people still multipath because they don’t care for BVR LARPing

Yeah, im not bad at notching Fox3 especially AIM54/Fakours, but if they even get slightly close to me and proxy, im ripped to pieces

you should be notching already flying cold to it periodically deploying counter mesasures

I rarely die when multipathing, its been more reliable to me than when i BVR and try to notch (i know how to notch Fox1 and Fox3)

Yeah, the tricky thing Ive found comes from relying on BOL chaff like on the F3 or FA2. Which does bugger all vs most Fox-3s. Usually will defeat the seeker, but way later than it would in something like the GR4 dropping large chaff. Usually resulting in near-misses

I really just can’t be bothered trying to notch when 9 times out of 10 there are ARHs coming from multiple angles anyways

Yeah, same thing when i play the Gripen and im out of large chaff and im left with my BOLs

God they need to fix BOLs. Even if they are worried about the continuous flaring, there is NO excuse for the chaff nerfs
