Hey. Currently no, all efforts are focused on the Hornets Sting major and developments within that. So we don’t have any news to currently bring about things that may be in the road ahead of that for now.
Both us and the devs are regularly looking at topics, feedback, suggestions and otherwise. Regarding RB EC, we mentioned not too long ago investigations were taking place to see if / how it could make a return. As we are very much aware of peoples desires to see it. But come challenges remain for that event.
Want to hear something funny? AFAIK the laser mode was installed additionally after the base version had only a mmW seeker, resulting in the “Dual-Mode Brimstone” which we have in game as a “Single-Mode Brimstone” with only laser guidance. The reason for the integration of laser guidance wasn’t for the plane to do the lasing of the target, but for ground forces to buddy-laser targets to enhance prescision, prevent possible friendly-fire (always a risk for FnF-Missiles) and being able to exactly choose a target instead of the missile deciding which to attack.
Yes, the laser mode was added to add additional man-in-the-loop capability to enable use of the weapon system in urban environments and with reduced risk of friendly fire,
Which is sad as reworked gamemodes are needed since years, even more since the addition of FOX-3 and long range ground ordenance…
Which raises the question: Are there even “game designers” working at gaijin? The content the last years was all vehicles and technology but never a gameplay update which would have deserved that name. So they just seem to employ 3D-Artists and Programmers xD
RIght now I feel like good gamemodes are thing the game needs the most. We have all of these cool vehicles and mechanics but only deathmatch like modes to play them in.
It would be quite cool to see some more interactions from the devs regarding this.
I hope we see at least some test for a new mode soon.
It would have been interesting to see what the snail would have done if the Brimstones never had a laser guidance mode. Would we have gotten the EF without Brimstones at all? Would they have added the Brimstones with IR guidance? Would the have added them as mmW FnF but limited in number?
Brimstones would not have been introduced if the laser guidance mode did not exist. Originally they were planned not too be added, until this mode was put forward.
Well, player skill is kind of included, its just the average amount of skill that players displayed while using a vehicle during a certain timeframe. For all we know they do not differentiate between “good” and “bad” players, they just form an average of everyones performances with a vehicle lol
What they really should be doing is doing BR balancing based mostly on vehicle specifications and only take player performance into consideration when the vehicle overperforms.
Lastly average earnings should never be a factor when it comes to BR balancing, as there are two other, a lot more appropriate ways to do so:
Increasing repair costs and reducing SL/RP multipliers when the average earnings of a vehicle are too big;
Decreasing repair costs and increasing SL/RP multipliers when the average earnings of a vehicle are too little.
I am hopefull they will, I love AMC’s as much as the next person but they seem hard to balance with their limited fire control and lack of armour. Not to mention most have a large crew pool.
