Except thats not the point. The F16AJ is a side grade to the Gripen A, but Japan doesn’t just have the AJ, they have the OCU and the JAS39C, so why do you keep comparing the 39C to the AJ? You should be comparing the 39C to the 39C and then the nonexistent CAS jets sweden has to the other 12.7 that japan has being the OCU, so i domt get why you keep ignoring that Japan has the JAS39C when sweden is the nation with a Gripen that doesn’t have alternatives.

If we judged by the ability to hold off enemy air power, a lot of top tier strike jets wouldn’t be worth talking about (such as the tornado, Mirage 2000D, etc)

yeah theres not exactly options for some of these nations, hence why I brought up their best option for the role.
Great, now next time you think about the CAS aspect also remember that CAP is a vital role because only one nation doesn’t get the ability to do both.
In any case. Those nations would be better off just using their fighter option even with air superiority
You said Su-34 is better than F-15E for CAS, this is unacceptable as the F-15E STRIKE eagle should be the better CAS

a. their fighter is no longer an option
or b. you dont have the spawn points for it
I know. If I were to fully factor in CAS/CAP, then I would probably be something more like (from worst to best)
- China
- Sweden
- Japan
- Germany/Italy/Britian (Great CAP, but between the dodgy radar and lack of FnF A2G, I consider it pretty weak at the moment, we’ll see what its like in the next update)
- Soviets
- US/Israel
- France.
List changes quite a bit when you factor in more than just A2G

Perhaps, but at which point Id look to a heli or just not spawning in CAS rather than bringing something that would die the moment the enemy team spawned a top tier air superiority fighter or SPAA. I doubt either an A-7 or Viggen would last long against a Pantsir
OCU is not a real Toptier CAS, just comparing with other CAS at toptier, due to some reason it’s laser guide pod doesn’t have Thermal version

Don’t get me wrong EFT and Rafale are better at some things, but when you need to be able to carry large amounts of basically any weapon in the USAF inventory, with a monster radar and extremely advanced ECM suite, and carry it for a long distance, F-15EX is the only good way to go
by that logic neither is the Su-34, and it’s the arguable best strike jet in the game
PESA, R-77 and KH-38s.
Its perfectly capable and the second best “Strike aircraft” in the game. With all the issues plaguing the Typhoon. Ive been in fights in a GSB match where I couldnt even locate an Su-34 on my radar and in the end just had to defend, create some seperation and then recommit for another attempt to find it.
The lack of decent A2G payload on the Typhoon outside of just having a lot of laser guided weapons, is also quite impactful. Its loadout is heavily nerfed and needs buffs. Id rather take 6x KH-38s over 18x SAL Brimstone 1s any day of the week
A-7 and Viggen cant fight pantsir as they will intercept their munitions, a Viggen with no CM pod, All aspect missiles or gun pod will have 4 AGM-65A which will be destroyed by a pantsir as they see them on radar. A-7 has 6 agm 62A which is the same fate, the viggen is faster but has less payload and no targeting pod.
But the KH38’s thermal version is much better than AGM65D, under this logic, A10A(late) is close to toptier
Didnt know that but still has the option for 2x Aim-9M + 2x AIm-120 + 6x AGM-65D which puts it ahead of most stirke aircraft and more than a few multiroles like the Gripen.
