Major Update "Hornet Sting" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Unlikely unfortunately, compare it to the F15 and Su-27 and it might have similar screen time to the other vehicles in that trailer

the thing is that carbine isnt usually a name for something so you would call it M1 instead

Well to be fair, I don’t think anyone is mixing up M829 with anything else

That’s honestly even worse

i dont think anyone would mix up call m3a1 stuart vs m3a1 bradley

I mean, did the US designate anything else as M829?

The problem starts when things like the M3s happen.

That’s what I mean

You can’t use the name or M# by themselves, you have to say both for it to make sense

Grease gun? Stuart? Bradley? Half-track?

What about the M1A1? What might I be talking about?

Theres a reason why they are named after the person or general who made it
not all the time but mostly

Carbine, tank, armored recovery vehicle

Thompson actually

Oh yeah that’s a good one, always thought of them as M1928

Damn, got him good there

That’s the thing, the name is more useful than the designation, you’ve got a better idea of what I’m talking about if I just say Thompson or Garand, rather than just M1
