Major Update "Hornet Sting" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

If that please you.

can spectra put nearly 2000 T/R modules to work so it can jam stuff?

can spectra get a weapons grade track just by listening to emissions?

I mean, Rafales have been able to perform SEAD perfectly adequately by themselves, whether or not the EW suite is better or worse doesn’t really matter past that point

Let’s just say both are great and more than enough.

A lot of Spectra stuff is classified so dunno.

I know it can messup with radar wave and send back false stuff, but i’m really not a pro in thoses talks.

Since it’s not stealth like an F35 (but adopts many of the techniques used on the F35 or other stealth planes (S shaped air intake, the “waves” on wings, smoother hull, no airbrake part etc…), the spectra messup radar returns, like showing several Rafales in different places when it’s alone.

Should I bring up that planes are already busted in ground rb and arh missiles would only make it so much worse?

I do kinda want to see ALARMs parachuting down waiting for a ground radar to activate though, I’m not even sure Gaijin could implement that

Planes can eject parachutes so I don’t see why a missile couldn’t, but again, 12.0 aa’s are already facing 14.0 planes, those 14.0 planes don’t need a buff.

Sad thing is a better engine for the Rafale already exist (afaik something like 20% more thrust power), but it’s just judged “not necessary” for it’s current use xD

But apparently they think about using them on the F5 standard that would also bring more stealth and others upgrades (up to 10 missiles apparently).
Wich i hope.

90 kN wet (AB).

They’d have to have the missile shut off its engine, deploy a parachute for descending (not something that has been properly modeled) then wait for a radar target to appear, ignite a second motor and correctly track the new target.

This is the same company that couldn’t manage missile pylons on the landing gear covers so I wouldn’t assume too much about what they can do

So around 20% or so ?

Oh also the Rafale F5 should have some link and use of the nEURON drone

From my limited knowledge, deception jammers like SPECTRA are far less effective against AESA radars like those found on F-15, F-16, F/A-18, F-22, F-35, you get my point

They have found a good jamming method against AESA I think, but classified iirc

I do think SPECTRA has been upgraded or will be upgraded to be more effective against AESA

Yes (both).

Perhaps it’s already the case, perhaps soon, dunno.

Classified as said.

Yeah, no way to know for sure which is better, but can be guesstimated

So they actually tried that? I was wondering why the f16 was missing its gear door pylons. Probably also why the f101 isn’t in the game.

They mentioned it when adding the F-16AJ from what I remember, though tbh I don’t see how it would be any more difficult that the pylons on the wings of the Tornado that was added in the same update as the first F-16s

Long time ago though so I could be wrong

Yeah the F35 should get some link with the loyal wingman

How would this even work in game, and do we really want more aircraft in matches?
