Only gaijin knows why better engines (AFAIK) and better radar (all aspect PD instead of just HDN) make this plane a “sidegrade”. It would have been perfect if it had gotten the AIM-7P (in combination with the all-aspect radar) too lol
That’s not what sidegrade means ’ a sidegrade involves switching to a different option of roughly equal value or capability’ where a worse option would be considered a downgrade.

they are, the f14d has an iris-t, a slightly better radar and a slightly better fox 3, its a sidegrade

Ingame? It’s a weird mix. It’s technically a SM3 but the overall model is wrong in places and the extra 2 R-77s are in the wrong place. Should be on the wings instead of between the nacelles.

How about we stop favoritising Sukhoi jets and give the MiG-29KR its R-77-1 and move it to 14.0? Sukhoi gets everything, why not stop treating MiG jets like the neglected child 😒
