Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

I just hate the double standards even in the tech tree as the missiles on the s2b buccaneer should have a complete different guidance system but they did not want to model it so they made it a tv seeker. But for some reason it now has to be a historical mode it had irl

I dont get why they can do that for the Martel but not the Brimstone (albeit ik the Martels is historical kinda)

Or even just give us Storm Shadow as a GPS standoff weapon knowing full well that peope would be upset by no mmV

Caracciolo is a ship I have been wanting for a good while.

I look forward to seeing her.

Also 28 knots is so good for WW1 Era.

Honestly give me my ASM-2 and give it a GPS mode and give my Gripen its cruise missle since we have the Grom

I also hate there whole thing on team killing like an ir missile can tk if a friendly flys in the wrong place

Not that i’ve seen, the stats appear to be right, this is purely an issue with the calculator.

I think if they buffed it to historical values we might have the first case of historical dispersion in WT for France specially (French ships had absolutely horrible dispersion until Richelieu got its late refits with delaying coils iirc, though the same can be said for American and Italian guns).

Well there a a few reports but theyre all being denied even through proper sources, it HAS to be a French source but supposedly there isnt any

Personally I feel dispersion should be modeled historically or not at all

I’ve seen the reports its not even an issue with needing French language sources. The shell has the proper stats, the issue is the calculator.

Perhaps its because it has been modelled as a SAPCBC round. Not sure if the same stats for SAPCBC and APCBC would affect penetration and particularly by 170mm.

It’s kinda like how L27a1 should have 700mm+ of penetration but the calculator makes it 564. I think battleship shells and gen 3 APFSDS are both incredibly expensive projectiles comparatively and much of this comes from shell quality and design/treatment.

Hi.
Just so you know the VBM Freccia spike change is historical. If you have any source for increasing Spike LR2 amount in other vehicle you are free to bug-report it.

“IRL” according to a pretty sketchy method of calculating the pen

I think it is because its being modelled as an SAPBC, im not sure how true it is but if it was an APCBC and just “might as well have been an SAPBC” then I do wonder how much thatd affect calculation

Eh its based on the USN Impirical value and I mostly trust that over Gaijins penetration calculator in this case. Frankly I don’t see how the discrepancy can be so high when the M.V and weight are relatively good.

It also lines up with what is known about battleship shells being lacklustre and not always fitting the calculator. For example HK reporter mentioned British shells having 30-40% less penetration than their tested irl value.

This lines up with that.
