The F-22 would absolutely dominate if contemporaries weren’t added at the same time.

Having stealth would make the only contemporaries for medium-long range combat other stealth fighters.
But it would still be outclassed in wvr if various UK and France mains are right, and if the asraam really is that much better than the 9X. The whole US doctrine is and was long range air to air, at least let us excel there. And it really only has air combat going for it, it has nothing on the F-15E for strike purposes.
If other stealth fighters were added with it I’d expect 9X BLK 2 with 120D and JHMCS equipped F-22 with upgraded AN/APG-77v1 radar, all of which were implemented before the j20 or su57 even entered service

Apparently an apg 79 v4 is first GaN fighter radar too which is pretty cool
My timeline is this
T1 Typhoon, Rafales, Gripen E, etc etc Decemeber - March
A fair amount of stagnation for top tier air for a while, with refinements and more “minor” additions for nations for the next 1-2 updates after that (things like the Hawk maybe at long last?)
But Perhaps new gameplay mecahnics like ARM or CBUs making an appearance.
Later to end of 2025, Gen 5 IR missiles on attackers, things like MICA IR for RMV or ASRAAM for Torando Gr4/Jaguar GR3A
T2 Typhoon, Later Rafales, etc, making an appearance maybe end of 2025 / early 2026 as well. (likely without Gen 5 IR)
Things like F-22, F-35, Su-57 IF they come, Im reckoning would need to at a minimum, be added alongside much later generation of aircraft for other nations, like T3 or maybe even T4 Typhoons, etc.
F-22 vs T4 Typhoon is probably a fair fight under the right conditions, but not T1 Typhoon.

Add on 9X equipped A-10C aswell, though there might be better options for US 5th gen IR testbed
They do have AESA, but… we are nearing the point where that cant be avoided.
I think the big difference with Gripen E and other similar swiveled radars is that they can notch while providing TWS/hard lock. Is it only the SMT and Su-27s that can do that currently?
I think so. Also the loadout on the Gripen E is more limited to its equals. 9 hardpoints vs 12 on the Typhoon for example.
gripen E still too new, literally rolled out in 2016, maybe come with later block typhoon and rafale.
i expect either upgraded hornets or block 1 super hornets coming with T1 typhoon, and super horent block 2/3 with T2/3 and later block rafale. F-15E/C with An/apg82v1 and an apg 63v3 respectively with T2 or 3 also. F-16C Blk 50 PoBiT (new radar and heavily upgraded RWR) come with later F-2 maybe.
if it comes to T4 typhoon vs f22, by then aim 260 will be in service and likely be the new armamet for f22 ingame as well as irl.

The Gripen E is at least a Typhoon T3, maybe even T4 counterpart. It would not come with T1s.

It’s definitely possible, the trick is just trying to prove if any of them actually got used in service or not. Also another question is if the devs are willing to entertain them or not also.
It’s gonna be interesting in general to see what the next step up is for the Russian air tree, as I believe they will have to get something better than the current R-77’s to remain competitive once we start getting closer to gen 4.5
At this point, I think it has to be the Su-30SM. It’s going to get a more competitive radar that is PESA, canards, TVC, and everything the Su-27SM is shooting right now. Park it right there with everything else coming out. When the 120C’s come out, drop the 77-1’s retroactively.
I really don’t know how this is controversial. The F-15E and F-15I are going to absolutely smack the crap out of everything, TVC and canards are pointless if I’m getting dunked on from a literal space-climber. Why can’t we give the Flanker the capability of going all-or-nothing?

there’s a hotkey for it, but I don’t know if you have to bind it or not
Wish there was an advantage to this in sim. Like more rewards or cheaper spawn. Something to motivate people to do it.
