You’re absolutely right but I still feel it should be represented in sim. Especially when cruise missiles come. We kinda see these tactics used in a certain ongoing conflict.
Perhaps a longer re-arm time for this weaponry?
The 20 or so seconds you have now are also not very realistic. I’d say for most other weapons it’s a gameplay sacrifice but here it would be nice to see a bump in re-arm time.
Or perhaps a timer that is activated when the ammo is spent and not upon landing. This way if you multirole with this weapon in your loadout then by the time you land after doing other objectives your rearm is normal because in most aspects you’ve had a balanced sortie.

Do you trust the snail to actually go the extra mile, and implement game mode specific ‘nerfs’ / limitations for specific weapons? Because I don’t lol.

I don’t think it’s likely. But that goes both ways. Do you think they won’t add the weapon to protect sim?

It’s the most neglected game mode but it does see some development and maaaaaybe they’ll do something like this.

No, but I do I think they won’t add weapons if they present a way for people to have low risk high reward gameplay.

I doubt they care about the balance implications of Grom in sim, but I’ll bet they care about the economic implications of it.

Lol, not saying they should but someone just putting a random low value to nerf the rewards in sim and then forgetting about it is far more likely than what I’d hope they do with something like variable rearm timers.

Though officially it’s deleated because of the out range attack problem.
I doubt gaijin will discover it’s economic implications so soon.

Actually they already have a reward multiplier for specific load outs with regards to basebombing, most easy/accurate way to handle that for Grom1 is to give it a lower one than the rest.

We already have several other munitions which exceed the 20km stabilization lock limit, so I don’t entirely buy that as the reasoning why.

I think the snail seen all those YT videos of people sniping bases right after take off and realized it could be economically lucrative in a low effort / low risk way.

What about this? Wouldn’t that fix it?

Your suggestion could fix it, but again. I got low faith in the snail to balance broken things (even by economically disincentivizing them).

Vikhrs in Heli PVP taught us they’d rather kill a game mode than balance a broken missile lol.

there has been massive disscussion about this, especially comparing this to Brimstone’s announcement. Though it’s not resonable, but loud voice do makes change, and remove it won’t hurt, except people me who likes this special weapon, and someone who want to bomb base by this(though, seriously? get a top plane and still bomb base with it, sounds stupid to me, while grind spade is not so harmful to economic).

I’d love to see so many sim improvements that would balance the Grom 1 like you say but likely won’t happen.
No one asked but here are they anyways:
-CWIS at airfield. Just one so people can SEAD them or something (no I know a ARM wouldn’t lock onto it but SEAD has a broad spectrum of weaponry/tools)
-Long range weapons that do the same for all nations
-Variable repair timers for different weapons

I just don’t see Grom-1 as a loss.

It still has x6 KH38’s which make it the best CAS in the game.

It still has an absolute plethora of munitions to destroy bases.

It still has GPS munitions if thats something you enjoy.

It’ll be fine.

He might be thinking of ET, it originally had the other seeker it can have on dev but was changed to the seeker we have on the regular T as was also used.

no, I like it just because it’s a very interesting, a modularized missile/bomb, I may even not use it but still like having it.
Though I still have grom-2.
