Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Gszabi liked multiple posts which puts their bet on tuesday. Most likely.

I still think its bc gaijin is figuring out some raytracing stuff.

I mean South africa is a subtree, and its nice to see them have some presence in AIr too, plus the Gripen D used by ETPS has 1. No internal gun and 2. iirc never been fitted with weapons

so its not really viable for the game, compared to the ZA ones

Except It didn’t. So don’t know where you are getting that from. That’s precisely why it wasn’t added.

Except it did. Riley found evidence that it was equipped with most. Just gaijin refused to accept any of those sources. Only thing he couldnt prove/find evidence of was if it carried a live weapon.

Anyway, its irrelevant now we have Typhoon level aircraft like the F-15E being added. So the Typhoon can be added instead.

he also spoke to a BAe designer who worked on it who said it was never wired for weapons iirc

Ohhhhhh no
Not the EAP

The power of DA2 compels you

EAP is dead, long live DA.2

Riley did a tremendous job doing research and presenting a lot of information, however no, it was not conclusive at all to show it had any of that equipment whatsoever.

It wasn’t fitted with any wepaonary or combat systems operating at all.

Still frustrating that Gaijin failed so miserably with Sweden and Britain last year though.

Its one thing to add nothing for top tier, its another to leave what they did have in an apalling state for over a year and then add nothing at any other BR.

Hoping Gaijin learnt from that mistake and isnt going to leave Britain without new top tier fighters for stupid lengths of time. Gripen is already starting to feel outclassed (at least the SAAF one with R-Darters)

It could always be the yak141 case, it may even have amraams if thats the case. I guess SAAF did need their representation in game, preferrably authentic, the superhind is a good start. Would be cool to see atlas impala, atlas cheetahs and SAAF modifications of bucc or canb into the lineup. There could also be a heli branch with XTP-1, Superhind MK4 with stugna P and rooivalk mk2.

I mean its not really comparable in this case

the ETPS Gripen is purely for pilots training, and thus whilst likely still capable of taking weapons, wont ever be fitted with them

meanwhile the Yak-141 was an unfinished prototype, which simply got the weapons it would have had in service

Sadly both nations were waiting the Gripen. Both had that gap because in reality there wasn’t anything between them for a top tier fighter of that capacity. The SAAF Gripen helped to fill a void that otherwise would have been longer until Fox 3

Speaking of EAP… would the DA1 and DA2 meet Gaijin’s standard for implantation? Or are they in the same boat as EAP?

Is this a pre-order like the ones for the JA 37 and Su-22 or not?

Seeing the Tornado F3 now vs what it was like when it was new, and the amount of buffs it can still get like Phimat. its a real shame. The fight wouldnt have been quite so one sided. Especially with the reduction in MP which I hope gets continued down further.

Additional buffs and content were and still are available to be added to many other aircraft like CBUs for the Tornados.

It was the sheer lack of any content though that annoyed me the most. We still have no Hawk or even a proper mosquito light bomber, and even aircraft we’ve gotten this year would have been fine last year. Like the Buc S2B or GR4. Its one thing to not add something for high/top tier, its another to add nothing at all at any tier.

(P.S Gripen A should have come much earlier for Sweden)
