Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

That’s where you’re wrong; you’re comparing the games and not the models.

Yeah, you’re paying $80 for an F-4E, or F-16C, or an F/A-18C, but you get a well-detailed, highly immersive, and authentic model of a vehicle that you like and that you’d like to fly out in a simulator.

You mean the radar set, which was already addressed.
The flight model will be on-par.
And DCS forces you to use controls that aren’t mouse and keyboard.
You can see how much I own on DCS, and War Thunder’s already adding a more immersive F-15E than DCS, War Thunder’s will have better engines too.

Yeah… and its annoying to as i like that particular module :(

I am a DCS user, and no War Thunder isn’t.
The primary difference between War Thunder and DCS is radar controls and radar simulation.
Less to do in DCS servers due to missions being community made is a flaw of mission makers and not the game itself.

I’ve played DCS for over 1000 hours.
When F-16s released for War Thunder, the first thing I did was test the flight models.
War Thunder for aircraft that don’t have wing sweep does an excellent job with their flight models.
DCS does a slightly better job with variable wing sweep aircraft.

And controls for War Thunder are far more customizable due to the mouse aim and virtual joystick systems.

People forget that DCS is still a game. DCS even has auto-start and auto-shutdown with one key press.

Such a round number where that meme going up a list to a certain sentence : P

Bro plays 1,000 hours in DCS and 500 hours on war thunder xD

Hi, I’ve been playing DCS for the same amount of years as War Thunder, yes for most of us its literally World of Warplanes and the only thing that makes me play WT instead of DCS right now is bc I have no free time and its more casual and dumbed down

Last check from what appears to be the final devserver version: there have been no immediately visible changes to any of the new air mode targets aside from those that were added in the first devserver versions.

I am going to archive this appearance of the S-300PS launch vehicle though, since it 's now the last static SAM launcher to not have animation bones added:

Unrelated to the above, here 's the new Enhanced Paveway bombs added today, which are currently not used ingame:

Have any of these laser/GPS bombs come to US aircraft? From what I’ve heard it’s only on tornadoes and stuff in game

Type 62 might be one of the best tanks it the game. Unfortunately it doesnt uptier very well.

Seeing how much of this update was changed on community feedback like F-15E engines and the tech tree Viggen I don’t think that’ll happen.

Especially remembering that a Singaporean Leopard for China was leaked, then struck from the leak. That is quite possibly Gaijin reacting behind the scenes and changing course again.

So I am hopeful they won’t make this mistake after all.

They tend not to respect player feedback in terms of tech trees and vehicle placement.

What about the tech tree Viggen Di and the Indian SPAA those were unplanned for this update.

I meant in terms of once theyve decided where something goes, it takes heaven and earth to get them to change their minds. (i.e. Australian abrams, soviet praga)

I wouldn’t be so pessimistic. Like I said they listened to feedback a lot this update, and it seems like they even did that on the leaked Leopard.

Besides, there’s one thing they have been very active about avoiding, which is present day politics. Adding ASEAN under China is a bit too on the nose for Gaijin.

Supposedly theyve come dangerously close to putting ukraine in russia.
