Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

I’m hoping the update is themed around the Typhoon, so it can be named something cool like Approaching Storm.

Delta Storm would be my vote

Typhoon, rafale, Gripen, lavi, J-10

Would be fititng.

Though… if any european nations get more than 2 seconds in the trailer. We’ll be doing better than we usually are.

Eurocanard for these three.

Yeah, “Euro Delta” or something to that effect would work great

There is the option of F-15C with AESA radar but that might come later in a smaller update.

F-18C for US and Germany is possible.

I don’t know about J-10B, very very little information on it exists even in China, we don’t even know the type of radar it uses (PESA or AESA) and there is more info on both J-10C and even J-16 (J-16 radar is designated Type 1493D apparently). Gaijin may wait to add J-10C instead.

J-11B will not only have radar and missile upgrade, but it is also 700 kilograms lighter in empty weight and later batches have more powerful engines, which may finally bring decent flight performance for the Flanker platform.

Yeah… Im on the fence whether F-15C needs the AESA upgrade. But knowing Gaijin/the US Mains. They’ll add something like the F-2 with AESA then throw a massive tantrum and get the AESA radar for most of their top tier aircraft before the dev server has even ended

J-10C would stomp the rest of the list no effort. J-11B/J-15/J-10B are all better candidates.

Yep, I knew there was another J-10 that would be a good fit but couldnt remember whether it was the B or C. Shay has already corrected me on that

And Sweden.

At least for the US folks the APG-63(V)2 went into service at a similar timeframe even though the F-2 takes the crown for the first new production aircraft with AESA radar.

Given the F-15E complaints, it seems only natural and Gaijin themselves stated the F-2 would arrive when other nations come in with ESA radars too.

The F-15C with AESA would be good much later down the line when things like the Typhoon T3/4 and maybe even fifth gen fighters come. Right now, however, America has more than enough and quite a few things between now and then, like the F-16E bl 60.

When was this?

Oh actually, it was the devblog for the AJ I think:

Indeed, the F-2, which is a 4++ generation aircraft, will appear in the game along with comparable aircraft from other nations

Later they did say the F-2 will come in one of their hotline Q&As but wasn’t added at the time due to the radar advantage. So once that’s narrowed down, no reason not to.

@Smin1080p_WT are the devs aware we have an WTD61 Tornado ingame?

Developer’s response:
LJDAM has been tested on both the assta (basic version) of the WTD61 regiment and on the 3.0 and later 3.1 as the main armament system.

Because with this in mind it should speak for LJDAM on the WTD61 Tornado but not the ASSTA1

why not leave f15e where it is with what it has now, then give F-15C an/apg 63v2 or 3 (v2 added a lot of weight while v3 brings that weight back down to about what it was before, and is more advanced) and put it at same BR as EFT and rafale?

T3/T4 would go better with the F-22 than early AESA F-15C

also pretty sure only UAE used blk 60, we can get the further upgraded PoBIT F-16Cs

anyone who says the US doesnt have enough future top tier options in space between f18 and f22 has no idea what theyre talking about

I’m not sure I follow, are you saying to replace the existing F-15C with APG-63(V)2?

Honestly I’m surprised the F-15E is coming with just APG-70 instead of APG-82(V)1.
