Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Thats not how it looks to the player base.

Same, I’m extremely excited for the F-117, even if it isn’t too useful! Can’t wait to fly the bugger

How does one make a separate BR for both Ground and Air just to not make use for them when it comes to the Tornados.

All IDS Tornados should be at the same BR in Air without argument, their gameplay is EXACTLY the same and the aircraft should be treated so as well.

Unless having GBU-12s makes you a wonder weapon and a direct threat to aircraft even like the F-16 or F-22.

I mean when the HVM works it’s great. The only issue is that it doesn’t work 90% of the time or if you have any ping. And I often play with people that play on EU servers so it doesn’t work for me most times.

Indeed, I love meme vehicles that wouldn’t be useful but are funny to have in the game. Plus it’s got to be my favourite US plane that doesn’t have Canada using it which makes me like it. tho them again, I might just like stealth aircraft designs or at least western ones.

HVM is fine. I have no issues with it and is really fun. if nothing else, because you can scout with the best optics in teh game instead of sitting AFK.

Just needs:

  • IFF
  • Low intensity laser
  • IRST fixes (not HVM specific issue)
  • Tracer removal (or reduction at least)
  • (Maybe ACLOS)

and it would be great.

@Smin1080p_WT Could we perhaps get a comment from Gaijin about the decision to implement brimstones as they currently are and are you guys open to a compromise? Currently the brimstones will never be used due to the fact you need to guide them for so long you will just die to SAMs. Alternatively players will just spawn the Gripen with F&F mavericks. I believe a good compromise would be to implement the radar without LOAL, then they would function almost exactly the same as mavericks and Kh38.

Not worth even trying that, they refuse any form of compromise when it comes to buffing them.

But are happy to ahistorically model things when its a massive nerf, like BOL.

Best we can hope for is the IR variant of the PGM-500/2000s that were reported 5 months ago and other buffs for the GR4 like its missing BOL. At least we now have the Litening III pod and we are still waiting for buffs for the Brimstones as they are currently lacking range, likely should have double+ the guidance time it currently has now.

ok I’ve been made aware of probably the weirdest angry mob in existence… why are some Swedish players mad about the decision to make a separate AIM120 viggen?

Gaijin just solved 2 problems, without even creating a new problem really… they Fixed Swedens less than stellar top tier premium grinder plane problem.

They gave the Tech Tree players who want AIM120s, a platform that (apparently) will be foldered so it’ll be dirt cheap. They gave the people who didn’t want AIM120s the ability to keep their existing 12.0 Viggen, un touched.

Like I see people mad about this decision when it’s quite possibly the best decision Gaijin has made this entire update.

Edit: Side note why are people so shocked about 4 AIM-120s at 13.0? “ooooooh spooky the AV-8b+ has the same loadout but it gets 9Ms as well, more CMs, a way better radar!, also the ICE is this BR, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO spooky!”

Yep, agreed. Id be pissed of the F3 had been moved up to 13.3 just to save on the grind. Kinda envious the Viggen Di is being foldered if that is the case.

dude as someone who had to watch the J-8F get given the Ol Yeller treatment when Seek and Destroy came out. I’m super envious of Sweden mains right now. That plane was so good and it’d be an amazing 12.3 without PL-12s, but nope.

Maybe if PL-12s got their actual performance it would be better.

Aren’t IRL PL-12s more like Aim-120Cs?

The solution isn’t to move the F-4F ICE down, which will cause more strife to 12.0 vehicles who already arguably have too many ARH missiles to deal with, but to move the rest of the top tier bullies up.

Moving other planes up may seem like a less precise instrument when it comes to balancing, but I think it actually works better - the decompression changes that were introduced earlier this year did a great job of making some of the less enjoyable 9.3/9.7/10.0s more so.

I stopped using it a long time ago. It used to be very good in my opinion (until the arrival of the South African sub-tree). For some reason, now I can’t hit anything with it. It’s like it just goes through the targets without touching them.

So this is my problem. I’m probably one of the players who lives farthest south on the planet in the entire game. My ping is between 200 and 220.

That has been fixed for the most part, at least I’ve had it once in the past few months and I was connected to a US server I beleive and had about 100 - 150 ping. The people who most commonly seem to encounter issues are those from Australia who have consistantly high Pings.

Yeah, that would do it. Stormer is entirely dependent on a good ping to be good. (though I feel they could mitigate that through things as simple as an indicator for how far away the missiel was from the target, like a countdown to impact. As if nothing else, its really hard to judge distance with the starstreaks and you are never quite sure if its phased, missed or not even close

I’ll try it again, then. I’ll give it a chance until I unlock the OSA. Ever since I found out it was coming, I’ve been eager to deploy the T-90 and set up an Indian lineup.

So far, we haven’t seen any indigenous Indian vehicles in the British tech tree. I’m looking forward to seeing the Marut and the Tejas, but until I see an Indian-built vehicle in the British tech tree, my theory is that they’re reserving them for an Indian tech tree.

Im personally hope they are few and far between. WAY too many British vehicles, perticularly on the ground, have yet to be added and those we do have are in need of major TLC.

That’s true, but it still won’t be enough if we want to maintain a reasonable pace of adding new vehicles. That’s why I think the current tech trees are (and will continue) receiving multiple sub-trees. Recently, even Smin used the term “sub-nation” when referring to India (about a month ago or less).

The Mirage 2000-5Ei, if nothing else, dealt a blow to at least half of my conspiracy theory.

Good. I’m glad to not have to be Blackpilled.
