Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Ones on the video are the T-84 Oplot, T-84-120 Yatagan, and BTR-4 Bucephalus. Quite interesting vehicles really and would definitely add some new flavor to the T-80s

They are also operated by Thailand. The Thai version possibly incorporates stugna launchers, would give Japan some much needed wheeled options.

Thai oplots and Pakistani T-80UD with oplot turrets, which can definitely circumvent current issues.

Especially since the Type 89 is not competitive anymore and isn’t viable to bring along at Top Tier. Currently Japan has 2 ground vehicles that truly belong in Top Tier and the rest are just… meh

i wanna know if those plans have changed

Unsuprisingly the latter is already on the forum as well

Or Thailand for Japan :>

Unless there’s proof of Gaijin commissioning outsider artists the possibility exists that they’ve been made by someone just because - but we can hope they are coming both as a subtree and for Japan

Plans never change comrade. Everything always goes according to plan (even when it obviously doesn’t)

Is it really needed that desperately? They have 3 cars with autocannons (4th coming this patch) and 2 with proper cannons. But I would always gladly welcome something to flesh out a lineup or two

its been known from some time and everyone knows why gaijin cant add ukrainian vehicles i dont think we need to comment on it anymore

better for me, less soviet spam vehicles to deal with anyway

Yeah, it’s the elephant in the room. A shame though, unique iterations of the T-80 that will probably never see the light of day in WT

Japan struggles with a lack of decent ATGMs, with not many native additions available, and the ones that can be added simply being not that great.

I mostly want Thai ground for the very very silly modernised FV101 they operate, Thermals and a LRF, but only 76mm hesh with 80-100mm of “pen”

😊

The type 01 LMAT is definitely an option, it is pretty similar to the javelin but attacks frontally instead of top down.

oh yeah they defo dont have ATGM carriers, i can think of one domestic option

There’s not actually much that mounts it,
You have a smol car and an APC iirc

The Car

Doctrinally it’s normally used by dismounted teams

I think we will be getting the planned maintenance post later on today given the lack of official news/devblogs today.
