Its not really firepower, its the protection thats hard to balance. Nizh has stats that is on par with relikt and it was stacked three times in the critical areas, almost inpenetrable frontally, still powerful but can be one shot like other soviet designs side on of course. Therefore it is at least 0.7 BR better than something say, T-80U, with the same ammo applied.
It’s optics are also far better, and the gun handling I’m hoping is on par with the BVMs and Leopards gun handling. I suppose it might be fine at 12.0-12.3
Even with svir and base 3BM42 it is 11.3 worthy at least, it would be like the strv 122 vs leopard 2a6 but on soviet designs.
True the only difference is (at least if it matters at all) is that once those massive Nizh blocks get hit and blown off you essentially have T-64 hull armor under it if I’m not mistaken, unless that’s been improved. Still would likely be fine but I still hope it gets those experimental rounds so I can bring it more reliably with my Type 90s and Type 10 :)
With nizh on the oplot is virtually invincible frontally. If its gun is not disabled it should be able to return fire and at least try to make a trade. Sure, it would struggle against the type 10 since it has a very short reload, but we are talking about a subtree for Japan and I have never seen Japan on both sides in the wildest mixed battle.
New JA37Di reports:
Essentially a T-90M that’s faster, actually has reverse gears, worse round, and possibly worse gun handling is probably the best comparison for the Oplot I can think of lol. Also I was meaning to bring it with my type 10, I wasn’t trying to compare them 1v1, since as you said Japan pretty much never fights itself even in mixed battles.
I think purely for balance theyll give us 3BM44U1
Hi @Smin1080p_WT,
With the addition of the PLZ-05, the first Chinese vehicle to get Spall Liners.
Is there any update to:
ZLT11/ZTZ96(A) missing spall liners
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/BJmIZ0IgKa0z
And also for:
ZTZ99 II, III / ZTZ99A / VT4A1 / MBT2000 missing spall liners
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/A75r3sNJVH1d
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/RZDxb3VeC5cj
Are they in the process of validating the reports, or modeling the location of liners, etc?
So I was looking into NIZH ERA and it led me to the Al Khalid and correct me if im wrong but can someone else look into the Al Kahlid and tell me if im crazy but I think its missing
quite a lot of things
DU round , barrel launched ATGMs, rumored APS, better domestic ERA etc
From what I see there’s 3 variants of Al Khalid, I think we only have the base version which is pretty much just an MBT2000 if I’m not mistaken
Certainl not wrong for Magic 2 since I played it on F.1CT at the time.
R-27T might have been that reliable on the dev server only as you say.
From what I can tell Al Khalid-1 is the one with all the domestic stuff built in and more modern equipment which happens to be the version we have but im not sure
Damn, that’s crazy.
Bought OES from last discount, totally worth it (from visual aspect at least).
Even with the Targeting speed of the T-80U, the armor in theory is very good on the Oplot, and having the same reverse gear as the MBT-2000 would be very nice on a tank with a small profile and strong frontal armor
Theoretically they could just use Chinese Ammo since most Chinese ammo(even the high performance ones) should be comparable with all old Soviet autoloaders simply because they were made with the size restrictions in mind, unlike later Soviet ammo like 3BM60 that requires a Autoloader with more space to accommodate the longer APFSDS rod
Considering Thailand has bought Chinese Ammo and operates the VT-4, it’s very easy to justify an Thai Oplot with DCT-10 as it’s main shell in my opinion
Yeah, i can research the engines while not having rank III yet… That’s how long i havent played it - new modifications were added a very long time ago.
It’s for Japan, so that means they don’t get it.
You this game Soviet…
Yeah, this is taking to long…
