Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

where to start with this

HMS is not really a loss given that 9Ms and 9Ls cant really take advantage of them well especially on a brick like a Tornado. 9Ms however is a big loss so that’s valid

This is also Valid but arguably more important is the CM pods

Imma be real the entire time I was testing on dev I literally did not notice the new engines making a big difference

these really aren’t anything remarkable tbh, they’re just another IOG Laser Guided bombs, the amount of them is their main benefit but on something like a Tornado you aren’t really safe to use them against SPAA on most maps.

These suck dawg, like… 60+ second guidance time to use them against SPAA from a safe distance, and you need to be around for the ENTIRE duration since the IOG might as well not exist

Range and they wont be fooled by corpses as easily as the TV guided ones, pretty simple to understand why they want them.

like overall the only thing the GR4 has over the GR1 that matters is the MAWS/CMs, 9Ms, and the Targeting pod. Brimstones suck, Paveway IVs are decent but nothing remarkable, the EGBU-24 is amazing but you only get one…

The Harrier GR7 at the same BR meanwhile gets the MAWS, CM count, 4 9Ms, and gets AGM-65Gs meaning it can actually fight from safe distances and doesn’t need to linger.

Edit: Granted I already wrote off the GR4 as a lost cause, now I’m curious what the plan for the 2000D RMV is because that thing as of its last dev server iteration is just the 2000D with an HMD… which somehow warrants a BR jump from 12.3 to 13.7

Uhm… I saw only SCW on F-15.

Uh… If the developer wants, he can add it for the F-111F

I mean we could, not saying we should

im pretty sure that was for the Gr1, give it 9L/is

Suprisingly, last update technically had more in the way of vehicles due to the addition of the French coastal tree, but it is important not to disregard the graphical and QOL changes we got this time around.

Update “Firebirds
38 Vehicles
-28 Researchable
-7 Premium
-3 Squadron

Update “Dance of Dragons
42 Vehicles
33 Researchable (12 in French coastal tech tree)
6 Premium (1 in French coastal tech tree)
3 Squadron

In the future F-16I Sufa and F-15D Baz carried AGM-142 Popeye (AGM-142F) and SPICE series like F-15I Ra’am

Not forgot F-4E Kurnass 2000 armed AGM-142

F-15E lack 2 datalink pods

  • Hughes AN/AXQ-14

  • AN/ZSW-1 Improved Data Link Pod (IDLP)

2nd missile is Have Life, afaik mini popeye

Anyway, for game it is same. Yes, lighter, but Popeye is Popeye.

Anyone else struggling destroying the MLRS AI targets in Air RB?

They have the same range. IR PGMs would be able to get a TRACK lock from far, that’s about it.

This is not a thing, you are free to prove me wrong.

There is no reason to them over something like Brimstone, they do have more range while being slower and easy to shot down. For which reason you want them? Even if they have 20km of range this hardly matters when they leave a huge trail and they can be easily shot down by any SPAA.

Since for you one is nothing remarkable but the other is amazing? What does EGBU-24 have over Paveway IV?

AGM-65G’s have roughly 12km of range from platforms such as F-16C’s & Co, from an Harrier they do have less range because logically the plane is slower. Regardless of this 12km are not “safe distances”. Have you used the Harrier GR.7 at all?

Especially because the Tornado is not the most agile airframe HMS give it some help.

Tornado GR.4 can get them as well.

The issue is that if you want to fight against SPAA you don’t do that. If you want to fight against SPAA you are better off surprising them rather than trying to guide a missile or bomb from 15-20km which they can easily shot down; Brimstone are great at this. You can easily spot any SPAA while you spawn, go low to the ground and pop-out of cover when you are at 5-6km from them and fire; Brimstone are perfect for this type of engagements because they are agile enough. They are also great against helicopters. PGMs can do that? Not really, they are not agile enough. LGB can do that? Yes, but it is way harder than doing it with Brimstones and you still can’t engage helicopters.

BRs are subject to change. Mirage 2000D-RMV was 13.7 in Air RB while having six MICA-EM. Do you really except the Mirage 2000D-RMV to be 13.7 in Air RB with two magic 2?

And man when yall are saying u have problem with cas israel tt lacks something and that something is something to do against cas like we cant even deal with cas at 10.0 maybe with the machbet but not with the drakon and yet what we can do against aerial threats in top tier like we cant even deal with helis at top tier since they are out ranging our current missiles which is 6km and thier flying range is 5.5 i think then what are we supposed to do just see how the missile flying towards me and do nothing?

Hopefully not… But Gaijin has made some rather questionable BR decisions in the past, so you’re not inspiring much confidence here. Sometimes common sense just isn’t applied for whatever reason.
