Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

You could add CATTB, M1 Thumper, and Leclerc Terminateur

Yeah, it’s a shame Japan never unveiled anything about it, but I am hopeful one day they will, hahah.

Some people believe it adds armor to the sides of the turret, others to the LFP… I wonder which would be the case!

yeah, the harrier Gr7 was really fun but its been kinda power creeped but eh it has been in the game 2 years since last update lol

I just wish it never got Aim-9Ms. Killed it for me. The BR increase was not worth the added firepower. (especially as the Gr9 could have come instead with Aim-9Ms)

Id far rather dogfight Mig-23MLDs at 11.7 with Aim-9Ls than Mig-29s at 12.7 with Aim-9Ms.

Thats the deal with the most modern tanks and weapons as now we are getting into current classified document range. So how are they going to add the most modern weapons and armor if its classified esp to try and avoid all the mains from all the nations crying favoritism ( that has to be exhausting )

yeah, hopefully that measn the Gr9 will come with ASRAAMs

yes lineups matter. but what benefit is there in adding the 2A7+, 2A6EX, 2A7A1, and 2A8 into the game when all 4 tanks are almost identical to the 2A7V we have in game? add 2 of them sure but all 4? in a game where people already complain about copy paste in other trees, you want 4 basically indistinguishable vehicles in the same tree?

In the coming years, spawning 2A8, 2A7V, 2A7+ and 2A7A1 will be way better than spawning 2A7V, 2A6, 2A5 and PSO, as we do now.

Right now, Sweden can spawn THREE 122s. Therefore, everyone else needs at least three 122 equivalents.

so i guess in some of the leaks we are getting the anti radiation missiles? thats going to be a lot of fun in sim and in ground rb, and you know someones going to post something about locking the ARM to jet radar.

They all have additional armour, these changes with ERA mounted on the rear and lower plate would give a measure of more survivability. The T-90M Obr 23/24 also has seen extensive use of Nakidka

Tanks are inherently more similar to each other than planes. There’s not much you can “revolutionise” in a tank, unless you look at programs like the MGCS. As a ground main, most planes just look the same to me as well. Wowowow this one is faster and has different missiles, so insane.
A 2A6EX Demo 2 however, would get me very excited because it’s a different take on the Leopard 2 in ways that an air main probably wouldn’t be able to appreciate.

Calling me an air main is hilarious when I have almost 8x the amount of hours in GROUND BATTLES than I do in air.

While I agree that top tier ground isn’t ‘out of content’, it’s way too close for it to be a good idea to advance to a new tier or even a new BR (not counting decompression). I’d rather they continue filling out the tech trees then try to ‘push the envelope’ as it were.

I know for a fact that the US has been experimenting with rocket assisted shells for one of it’s experimental SPGs. I’d like to see stuff like that added first before a new tier.

I wasn’t talking about you specifically :)

I agree, it’s just a matter of taste.

Specially up to Top Tier, planes all feel the same to me, as does their gameplay. That doesn’t mean I should oppose the addition of these for those who enjoy them and appreciate even the slightliest differences among them- I think same should go for ground.

If we really appealed to the “don’t add vehicles that are too similar to each other”, we would only have 2 Panzer IVs, 2 Abrams, 2 T-34s, 2 Leopards, etc…

The 2A6EX is just an up armoured 2A6? What’s different?

It’s worse than the 2A7?

you’re missing the point. The problem isn’t “don’t add vehicles too similar to each other” it’s “don’t add 5 versions of a vehicle that are too similar to each other”

because you guys already complain about tanks being too similar as is. Like people already complained about the 2PSO being added as “copy paste” when it’s one of the more distinct leopards in the game.

Issue is, Gaijin sold Rank VIII like a huge deal last year; like the next great step in Ground Battles… but they haven’t added ONE tank in nearly a year now, ever since that. So of course it feels disappointing…

Specially when right now it’s 3 nations that curbstomp all others. Of course I would like every nation to be on par and balanced…

The issue is, at this point, “pushing the envelope” IS filling out trees. We need every tree to be filled out till they are equivalent to Russia, Sweden and Germany to a lesser degree; and, for that, they need counterparts, for which they need to move forward instead of being stuck with the same tanks as in 2019 or mere sidegrades of these.

“Specially when right n’ow it’s 3 nations that curbstomp all others. Of course I would like every nation to be on par and balanced…”

actually the win rates are at their most even that they’ve been in the last 5 years. With everyone sitting around 60% barring the U.S.

People didn’t complain about 2 PSO because “it was a copy-paste”; they complained about 2 PSO because it wasn’t a true counterpart to Sweden’s Strv 122s, of which Germany had many options Gaijin could have picked over PSO.

Because many nations are stuck in capabilities. We want tanks that finally upgrade their capabilities, not sidegrades, of course; and when that happens, even “copy-pastes” of the new tanks will be warmly welcome, because they will still be upgrades to the tanks they will replace.
