Yeah, I forgot about the F-2, Though the Thai Gripen might be a good addition for them anyway
Atp id take either or tbh id prefer the F2 but id take a Gripen
F18c isn’t really comparable to Rafales and eurofighters. Super hornet is more comparable to those
Probably 1 or maybe 2 Rafale variants in the first update but rapidly add more over the next few like they did with the F-16.
And yeah, though when do european nations ever get good representation in the updates theme
We already have one ingame PESA on plane but not working as such saddly ^^
Itll be close enough especially in low speed maneuvers
I am not talking about Rafale upgrades, but Rafale models, there is 3 really differents ^^ (C, B, M)
let me try this again…
The J-10A, despite having a worse Fox 3, worse radar… off of PURELY FM is already holding a top 3 position in top tier against jets with better radars and missiles. The 15C only winning due to having the holy trinity of good Radar, Weapons, and BVR platform.
The Eurofighter Tranche 1 Block 5 by comparison has an even BETTER FM, while having a better RADAR than the 15C, and the same weapons… while still retaining good BVR speeds…
meaning that the Tranche 1 B5 would at bare minimum match the 15C at BVR if not surpass it-
The target keeps moving, last year it was the F-15C MSIP II, now its the Super-hornet. So I think enough is enough and they just need to add the Typhoon and Rafale sooner rather than later. F-18C can eitehr come with a missiel advantage or at a lower BR, or maybe just not be a meta aircraft.
I’m just going to tell y’all right now that the Su-27K/33 had no right winning the competition for the next carrier aircraft, and that everything about it until about the early 2010’s was “shrouded in mystery” as Russia decided what to do with ~35-50 airframes. There really is no Su-33KUB, not in any configuration that was ever intended to be used beyond less than ten airframes for training.
However, the Su-27UB ended up being upgraded with new radar (allowing the deployment of the limited-in-stock R-77) and redeployed amongst the Air Defense and later the Air Force, mostly in the far east. When this occurred, and orders were placed, it was redesignated the Su-30 (not the Su-30M, M added multirole). If we’re talking combat planes, it’s Su-32 (technically) and primarily either Su-30 or Su-34 for twin/tandem seat flankers. None of them were navalized, although I suspect the upgraded landing gear remained on the 34 to handle the additional weight.
Su-27K/33 =/= just a naval Su-27. It’s a much less capable plane, and would not even be as capable of a plane as the stock Su-27. All the old articles before 2010 are Western Armchair general scuttlebutt about what the new Su-33 may end up being. The reality is a few Su-33’s were produced, and the whole idea of Naval aviation has been an after-thought save for mostly the operations out of Crimea. Period.
Tbf the 15Cs radar isnt the best in the game id give that to the Blue Vixen/ Gripen radar or Tornado Radar
if gaijin decides to push a naval fighters update I hope the Mig 29 is chosen over the damn Su-33
Why not both :) (this wouldn’t happen lol)
iirc the 33 cant use R-77s right? Or is that false information?
YES ( Itd never happen)
I think the Su-27K/Su-33 is perfect for either an event, squadron, or premium plane. It has no business being in the tree unless it’s a stepping stone to the MiG-25K, from the Yak-141.
So Germany, Italy, France, Sweden and Britain are never allowed new aircraft then?
For the likely gimped Typhoon DA/ Tranche 1 B5 to be added, what does the US need to be fielding as an absolute bare miniumum?
F-22?
it cannot
Speculation was later Su-33’s could. Would it matter? Not really. 8 pylons, no TVC, canards that are basically vestigial. If Gaijin wants to add a capable “naval” fighter, it’s the Su-30SM/SM2, and that’s really only because the Navy flies/flew it out of Crimea/Simferopol.
