Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

I don’t know about 2nd worst, I think that goes to the J-11A and F-4F ICE. But it’s an incredibly contextual plane, given how hard it is to acquire targets with it’s radar, and the energy drop-off of the R-77. It’s quietly a decent multirole however.

Maybe I struggle to visualize the numbers, but everything I read said the R-77 should perform like an AIM-120C (early), and that the R-77-1 is about on par with the C5. It sure as shit doesn’t even feel close to the B’s in game.

As much as fixing the velocity is nice, I’d love to have them just bum the ACQ to the 17.5 or 19.5km range that like every other plane has in game. That or fix the 27ET’s to make them worth more than a funny kill on someone not paying attention.

I don’t even count the F-4F ICE in the conversation dude.

I’ve read better things on the F-16AM, specially with the bonus for the MAWS more usable than on other F-16s.

the F-16AM has a better FM than the Cs at the cost of
MAWS is only usable if you sacrifice 2 AIM-120s, and you dont get a radar HMD. Which are BIG advantages to lose out on.

Strange i remember reading than using the MAWS on the F16AM need less sacrifice than on the others but ok.

Su-33 is a redesignation of the Su-27K, the Su-27KUB is the twin seat (side-by-side) naval trainer that was developed for training pilots on carrier take-offs and landings.

The Soviets immediately saw value in a strike-bomber variant of the flanker with a cockpit arrangement similar to the Su-27KUB and it was initially designated the Su-32 before being slightly changed and renamed to the Su-34.

the MAWS is tied to the CM pods (which for some reason) cannot mount AIM-120s like it can IRL.

The Su-33UB is a trainer. Its weaponry is the same as that of the base Su-33.

So… You agree with me. Typhoon with certain limitaitons, could be added in December at the same BR as the F-15C MSIP II and it wouldnt totally and completely break the game like people usually claim whenever you mention adding the Typhoon.

Imagine EFT, F2 and F/A-18 December

the Tranche 1 Block 5 (the first one I expect to see at this rate) would in the current game have the strongest Radar easily, as well as the best FM, on top of matching the F-15C in missile quality and only losing on missile Quantity…

While not struggling to reach meaningful BVR speeds like the F/A-18C and J-10A do. you heavily undersell this plane.

To me, that would be a really good update.

F-18 (with Aim-120Cs) for Sweden and US
Typhoon (With Aim-120Bs) For Italy, Britain and Germany
Rafale for france
Thai Gripen C for Japan or maybe F-2?
etc etc

would be a really solid update

No

Why no?

Few aircraft get added with their actual radars. The Gripen’s radar takes months and months to be added and no gurantee that AESA/PESA wont be added at the same time

Maybe, but strong enough BVR against it like the F-15C or F-18C would mitigate that. Dogfight vs BVR truck just like the F3 vs F-16/Mig-29 but now in reverse.

The F-2.

And the Rafale ofc:p

Only problem is adding non european canard plane.

Because the update would not be named “European Canards”’ in that case :p

Also i wonder if we gonna start with all 3 main member of the Rafale family or just one.
