Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

IRL, they can determine the target and pick the best place to impact for maximum damage, So 1 missile per target is probably all that is needed.

In-game… The missiles would likely always go for centre mass and may or may not do enough damage to always kill, much like Hellfires do.

But can the Mirage RMV carry 18x AASM like the Typhoon, Gr4 and GR9 can?

Also, HOSBO INS/GPS/EOS glide bomb with a possible 100km range :p

Storm Shadow with a 550+ km range?

No, but are each of you brimstone able to carry 250 to 1000kg of TNT ? :p

That’s 6Tons of CAS for a full loadout.

Pros and cons for each xD we should stop there.

Seems big, how many can be put on a plane?

They are the same size as the AASM

Tunguska wasn’t enough, and American CAS specifically (like A-6 TRAM) as well as others since the Pantsir would’ve just sh*t all over the Tunguska the way they’re played now.

The nerf to bomb release speeds was nice, as it makes things a little more fair, but the Tungy just wouldn’t have been up to it anyways. Pantsir was necessary, and I think the counter point to it is keeping thermal TGP’s and competent interdiction away from the USSR.

That will likely change with the Su-34, so it will be interesting to see how that undoes the tender balance we currently have.

Yeah, though
4x ALARM for SEAD
+
2x ePaveway II (1000lb) or 2x Storm Shadow on the wings in place of fuel tanks
+
up to 12 Brimstones or 9 with a tpod

is one hell of a loadout to bring to bare in GRB :P

But yeah, each are good when used right

Mirage 2000D MLU mounted MICA NG-IR

Mirage 2000D Mid-life upgrade (MLU) equipped TALIOS targeting pod like Rafale F3-R

Longer and fatter from what i read/see.

Anyway.

Tbh, I’m fine with Storm Shadow coming. As long as it’s roughly as detectable as anything else, why not? Also, isn’t it basically meant for structures etc? It doesn’t have terminal guidance in anyway the player could effect afaik. Isn’t it just image matching which internal on the unit?

Wow calm down, if the game is not ready for MICA IR, it is really not ready for the MICA NG-IR xD

And yes, that’s the same pod. Dunno if it’s a question or… x)

yeah but they were british tridents and afaik it was due to incorrect programming of target

also its the trident 1, the cold war ones on the first ohio class subs, it worked just fine

It’s just a guidance kit for a Mk 82 500 lb bomb

Storm Shadow and Taurus have IIR Terminal guidance if im not mistaken, meaning the ywould be soemwhat effective against tanks in game, but destroying buildings is their main use case, so I would hope they had some kind of damage multiplier vs bases.

Could make the SCALP really interesting for air RB, doing infiltration mission with them and sniping bases xD

Yeah, I was thinking Sim actually, but yeah. Its just getting them balanced right, because:

Take-off
select target
fire
land
repeat

would be a tad OP for base farming. So I guess they’ll be limited to like 30km range?

Could be a way to balance it.

But we really need way bigger map for air battle in the futur (outside EC).

Stealth, long range loadout etc… lot of things gonna be stuck/useless by the actual map size.

Yeah, we’ve needed 256x256km Sim maps for at least a year, even more so since ARH. The future could see that being the bare minimum map sizes.

Let alone for ARBs micro size in comparison.

Yeah… Our Meteors gonna almost do airport → airport range even there xD
