Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Yeah… Not on the same league for the number.

Anyway the RMV is not gonna be a crazy new plane that open a lot of possibility, but it’s cool that the striker line get something more, but i hupe the middle one, the Mirage 2000D R2 not gonna be the future premium, i want a fighter 2000 ! x)

Storm shadow would be interesting. If Brimstones are deemed way too OP, but the Gr4 is added still. Storm Shadow is probably the only thing they could add instead that wouldnt cause a total riot due to the lack of Brimstones.

It’s still not something I see Gaijin doing. The GR.4 will probably get late Sidewinder upgrades like the L/I-1 or M, and well, the Magic 2 is already a very good IR missile. It won’t make them good dogfighters, but then again, they aren’t supposed to be.

RMV can’t use Magics 2.

Really afaik the only air to air loadout IRL is 2x MICA IR (hope i’m wrong and it can take more but all picture i can found are mainly ground focus (it’s main job after all)).

Now Gaijin probably gonna do some… magic… Since they already made a mix of variants for the -5F.

Yes… Probably… But at the same time, something will be first with these next gen IR missiles. If the choice is between 2x MICA IR on the Mirage RMV vs a full Mirage 2K with 6x MICA IR or adding the Tornado Gr4 with 2x ASRAAM vs the Harrier Gr9A with 6x ASRAAM or Tornado F3 FSP with 4x ASRAAM, etc.

Then the Mirage RMV and Torando Gr4 would make sense.

Now this update will probably be Aim-9M/Magic II respectively, but I dont count out the possibility of them getting them in the future (and maybe near future)

Its quite new as well right?

Its like the Tornado F3 when it got AMRAAMs, why fit it with Aim-9 when ASRAAM are available

Well afaik it’s totally current.

But it’s not making the 2000D crazy planes, it’s just for giving them more lifetime before switching to full Rafale i think.

(now i guess a lot of things are classified about all the changes)

RMV = MLU

Yep, so I guess maybe still compatible with Magic IIs but why equip a short range missile and risk loosing in a dogfight (especially in a ground attacker) when it can swat something out the sky at long range with a MICA IR.

But the previous versions did, which is good enough for Gaijin.

It will probably be the focus of an update if I am to guess.

Littles things i can found:

Mirage 2000 RMV has increased ammunition-carrying capacity, with a 30mm CC422 gun pod under the fuselage at the front left of the aircraft (cute gun pod btw), and MICA Infrared air-to-air missiles in place of the less effective Magic IIs. In addition, the “man-machine” interface has been redesigned, with the integration of touch screens and new software which runs under Microsoft Windows

So yeah, i think the main update IRL are not things that gonna change a lot for the WT gameplay.

Yep, probably, set the stage with a new ground attackers for most nations then retro-actively add next gen IRs.

So, new AAMs, new gunpod and can play war thunder whilst flying the Mirage RMV in war thunder :P

And some of the best ingame bomb if Gaijin accept to give it the AASM ^^

Also Talios pod is a crazy one, love the way they use map around the target

Im hoping for 18x Brimstones on the Tornado Gr4, so AASMs probably not that big of a deal :D

Do they have 70km+ of range? :p

Brimstone 2 has a 60km range and can be spammed off by the aircraft, and then it can turn away. The missile will go find their own targets and coordinate to hit 1 target each

That would be under perfect conditions, high altitude, high speed, perfect weather etc.

It’s quite the balancing act.

I know Gaijin has done its work to add SPAA’s to nations that are clunky, or otherwise not necessarily intended to actually be the SP in SPAA. It’s been done, obviously, to keep games balanced and interesting, and so it’s essentially been a good decision.

However, like the distinction(s) I’ve made earlier, the balancing needs to be done with some consideration to historicity. For example, I’d love it if they added some sort of MiG-21-esque flare pod for the Su-7. It never had flares as far as I can tell, and it desperately needs them for GRB (ARB too). There’s no way in heck they should add them however. BR’s need to be adjusted, and that’s really all they can do.

If Pantsir is as difficult to detect in certain modes (I’ve heard such talk outside of here as well), it would be nice to retain some sort of (minor) advantage, given the nature of it’s design. Same should be said for the F-22, with it’s like 0.0001m2 RCS. If that’s the case (and I have the number right), which many say it is, that’s a feat of engineering that deserves to be honored at some level in the game. Does that make the F-22 immune? I don’t think so, likewise with the Pantsir, but perhaps there can be some sort of homage to it.

Basically, like I’ve said: fair, balanced, “flavorful”. I.e. sticking to the nature of the design to some degree.

Otherwise please make my R-77’s as fast as the AMRAAM’s, and for as long as well. As good as it is in some cases, I’d 1000% rather have an AMRAAM the way it’s depicted in the game.

Less range so, and less impact, i’ve read here than they have not a big warhead, this would explain the big number, you probably need 2 at least for one target ?

Plane can turn away with the AASM too, F&F bombs thanks to the choice of INS/GPS, INS/GPS/IR or INS/GPS/laser in their head

yeah…?

Why i read only things like that for stuff i talk about.

It’s the same for every military stuff x)

Not sure War thunder weather gonna impact a lot anyway
