Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

I dont recall, I rarely played those events as they are often ground focused and im not a fan of ground

I might have just found a soviet aircraft that I would actually grind:

I thought I had read Romania upgraded them after the fall. Doesn’t bother me either way. Italy needs more than just the dang OTO for SPAA. Every nation needs usable SPAA.

This RU/East vs West thing people do is really silly when, say for example, everyone is playing their new boxer, and the 100% German team only has whatever Germany can bring to the match.

Interesting, did they mention if they knew where the AD was more than generally? Syria has S-300’s, and Russian crewed S-400’s at the RU Navy base in Latakia. Unfortunately I’m sure that info is classified. I also know that there’s multiple complexes for both the S-300 and 400 for all sorts of different types of radars and FCS. I know there’s a lot of backwards compatibility between the FCS complex and the different integrated assets. At distance, anything is possible, the Su-34 crew a few months back dodged at least 2 patriot missiles fired at it when doing a UMPC run.

Interesting. I wonder how well the IRST functions would fare. I know the US sees those complexes as a huge threat.

Doesn’t surprise me at all. Both the 29 and 27 at that stage had their more primitive radars. I doubt Foxhunter could jam BARS entirely, and definitely not IRBIS-E. But that’s a gap in generations of course.

It should help with Fox 3’s too, makes them a little less accurate depending on a few factors (of which jamming can be a factor.

I don’t think the book ever stated. But been a while since i read that book. Will see if I can find the relevant passage later.

Probably quite well, I’ve heard the PIRATE IRST could acquire F-22 at a range of about 40km, though I don’t know the validity of that…but the luftwaffe typhoons at the time didn’t have PRIATE installed.

I meant Russian/Chinese IRST, but EFT having IRST is a huge advantage too.

Based on the small amount of research ive done (im sure theres posts I havent seen yet) I dont think they will help as much as we’d think

So what does Indonesia add to Japan that no one else can? Some Flankers? A BMP?

It’s not like the UK are lacking in a way that the F-117 will fix lol.

Keep thinking that the F-117C will do well in ground RB. It’s laughable.

Highly doubt it. The F-16 is already really strong, if most people can’t spawn that thing or do well enough in it another high spawnpoint option won’t change shit.

Not even counting all the Clickbaits with no air tree researched.

ASEAN imo would be the best option for Japan (as much as I want SK) it would fill every single gap in the entire tech tree which obviously includes the mentioned nations, Singapore and Thailand would fix top tier ground and SOME air but there will still be massive gaps in the mid and low tiers I THINK

Do you have a link to the proposed tree?

I wish I did in not even sure if there is one im purely basing this off of what research and looking ive done into what each nation has fielded and what they do currently field

The ground tree and air tree suggestions were passed to the devs, here they are:
Ground: Thailand sub-tree : Ground tree
Air: Thailand sub-tree : Aviation tree
There are more vehicles that have been either entered into service (Like the AT-6TH), ordered (JAS39E) or more has been discovered about them since them, like the F-5E SCU and F-5TH Super Tigris.

That’s Thailand though. I’m talking Indonesia and (to a lesser extent, Singapore). Imo, Indonesia specifically, is a good subtree for China.

Thats fair I was more speaking about ASEAN as a whole

I don’t mind it either, although Imo vehicles should be chosen more wisely in such case. If some unique or at least modified tech exists it should be used over copypaste and try to not mix lines.
For example looking at Hungary/Romania there is a lot of unnecessary copypaste: 2S1 could be changed to Model 89, T-72M1 to Hungarian T-72M Currus and Romanian TR-125, ZSU-23-4 and ZSU-57-2 (idk who thought it was a good idea to C&P them) there are multiple Italian vehicles which can take their place like OF-40 PRTL, M320 Porcupine and M113 AA prototypes.
On the other hand I still hope that more unique designs will come with time and copies would be mostly hidden in folders so people who start research won’t have to grind them unless they want to strengthen their setups.

indonesia has no tangible relations with china though

Hi @Smin1080p_WT
I have been a long time advocated for addition of Indian vehicles to the game. I would have personally preferred a commonwealth TT but even a British subtree is acceptable. I am however disappointed by the lack of any actual Indian vehicles in the normal tree. Its just been special vehicles, squadron vehicles, premiums, pack premiums and event vehicles

I feel like GB is severely lacking behind the other nations when it comes to modern vehicles and the Indian subtree would neatly fill any gaps left by a lack of suitable British vehicles.

I don’t want to go off the leaks for obvious reasons but even they didn’t mention anything about Indian vehicles.

Just very disappointed to not see the largest voluntary armed force in the world not being represented appropriately in the game.

If you could shed any light on what Gaijin has planned for the Indian subtree. If there are ANY plans to bring Indian vehicles in a significant way that would be great. I don’t want to keep hoping and get disappointed every update. Also as an addendum, I made a bug report on this Indian decal that has gone unnoticed for 4 months now. Could you also please look into it as well.
