T38 air defense system from Belarus. some kind of super OSA with T382 missile. A maximum cross range of 10km, maximum slant range of 20km

They have a little. During Operation Shader, where Typhoons were conducting airstrikes against ISIS, it was not uncommon for the Russians to lock onto the Typhoons transitting from RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus. The RWR at the very least was able to identify the exact state the Russians SAMs were in and thus the pilot knew whether they needed to defend or not. So long as they were only being looked at by the radar, they generally ignored them, but were ready and prepared to defend against the threat if needed and the pilots were confident they could defeat the SAMs if needed. But figured it was likely a bluff. This incident is outlined in the book “Typhoon” by Mike Sutton.
As for the EW on the EFT, we have seen in engagement between the Luftwaffe Typhoons and F-22s that the F-22s often have to close the distance greatly before being able to lock on and “fire”. Greatly mitigating their ability to fire from long range. They had to close within 50km iirc. So it is exceptionally strong.
Fun fact, the Foxhunter radar on the Tornado F3, when used to lock onto Mig-29s and I think Su-27s as well, would completely and totally jam their radars :D
Yes, it is dangerous to insist on searching for information on this ammunition, and I have stopped looking for information about this ammunition
Any source for this statement?
Afaik Romania received AKM variant from USSR in the second half of 80s, there weren’t any modernization later.
they should probably remove the AJ then, they didnt want it and rejected it, it also now no reason for it in the game
I am all for replacing the AJ so-
either with a prototype F2 or with the actual F-16AJ that they tested out before rejecting it.
probably with a proto F2 and even then it was added since japan had nothing, with the F15J they dont need it at all now so wouldnt need the tested version either
something is telling me if we ever got EW in warthunder that part will be forgotten
it’s not a good idea to remove it and just make a massive hole. replacing it is the best course of action to make the jump from the F1 to the F-2 less jarring.
I am already against BR placements that let players skip like 3 brackets.
Edit: Also removing without replacing means you need to refund 400k RP to everyone so-
I think XF-2 might fit better as an event vehicle or something like that. It doesn’t make too much sense to go into the tech tree.
Yeah, Im guessing that if we ever see ECMs, they’ll simply prevent you from getting a target lock until you are within a certain range and will affect Fox-1/Fox-3 missiles similar to how the IRCM affects IR missiles on the Su-39.
But enter within a certain range, and your radar can lock as your radar is burning through the jam and I also dont beleive PD radars are as badly affected by jamming, so again, Id give PD radars an additional advantage to lock onto targets.
Essentially, ECMs would reduce engagement ranges, but not be this bubble of invulnerability. That would be very dull gameplay and you might as well just increase MP to 150m / remove all BVR from the game.
Im doubting more complex parts of jamming, such as those of the F3, would be modeled. In any case. Id defiently be interested in things like Sky Shadow for the Tornado, might give them the edge they need vs SAMs in GRB
I think id be inclined to add the XF-2 and folder the F-16AJ underneath it. For those newly grinding the tree, it can be skipped, for those that like having it, get to keep it, and those that want the XF-2 have a new aircraft to unlock and use instead.
Is there enough data for Gaijin to model XF-2?
I assume you mean storm shadow right? also uhh issue with that, its practical stealth and has a range of 550kms
Sky Shadow is the ECM pod that can replace a BOZ pod on the Tornado IDS
Storm Shadow is the Cruise missile
oh lol I thought you miss spoke I was gonna say
Though wont lie, Storm Shadows would be… interesting, but fun.
Very niche in use case, but with the right damage multipliers, sending them cross map (or even in a nerfed state at moderate ranges) to destroy bases would be fun.
It makes sense still as we have the T-1 to F-1, so XF-2A to F-2A.
XF-2B or F-2B seems like event vehicle material.
Most likely, especially if they use APG-68 which is just copy/paste F-16C radar.
Even if they want to use J/APG-1 AESA radar, they can use the experimental version which had less module so it was less powerful and make up whatever limitation they want.
didnt the warthunder 2077 event not have drones with cruise missiles?
