Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

The MICA-IR will definitely be better with its range, however the Mirage 2000D RMV is much worse than the F-15E for A2A, so it getting MICA-IRs wouldn’t be nearly as large a leap as the F-15E getting 9X’s.

Oh I’m not disagreeing, plus it only carries 2 not 4. I was comparing on missile to missile basis not the platforms

In that case, yeah, the MICA-IR in a vacuum is cracked. On the same level as the ASRAAM in some ways, in fact.

I’d rather not.

Yeah I think asraam will retain more energy tho, tiny fins, no thrust vectorin

The MICA’s theoretical range to my knowledge is better, however due to the nature of IR seekers, you’d need to get close enough that the range advantage is null anyway.

They have loal, so you could guide the missile using tws bit like fox 3s

Edit: typo

I’m guessing it’ll have similar G pull compared to AIM-120? Like 35-40g?

Mica IR feels like Kfir C.10 with Pyhton 4s

Did you guys like the teaser yesterday?

I forgot about that. If you’re using it purely as FnF, however, my point stands.

shadup man, plz,m,an.,

The Python 4 is worse than the MICA-IR in almost every way.

Well I’ve seen asraam in a museum and on the body it had 50-70g labeled, assuming 50 sustained and 70 peak

T’was splendid, my good sir.

Another reason to introduce it then.

Indeed. I’ve wanted it for over a year now.

I believe it uses similar irccm to 9x bl1

That’s more than I thought. IIRC 9X has a similar limit, but will still be better at close range because of TVC.
